Ginn surrendered three runs over 3.2 innings during his most recent start Thursday, and he appears to have come away from the outing with some elbow trouble. He'll sit out the next couple of weeks at least as a result. A rotation replacement for Ginn hasn't been named yet, but Jacob Lopez will come up from Triple-A to give the Athletics extra bullpen depth for now.

Ginn didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Rangers after allowing three runs on six hits and two walks in 3.2 innings. He struck out two.

Ginn could have some streaming value in fantasy against softer lineups, as he entered play with an elite 61.5 percent groundball rate, but he has a 4.61 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB over 13.2 innings (three starts). He doesn't shape up as an appealing option in his next projected outing in Texas for a rematch with the hard-hitting Rangers.

Ginn's second start of the season didn't go as well as his first, though he showed some strikeout upside again. The Brewers got to him for two runs in the third inning and tacked another onto his line in the fifth after he exited for reliever Jacob Lopez. Ginn has allowed four runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out 13 over 10 innings across his two starts. If he stays in the rotation, he's tentatively scheduled for a tough home start versus the Rangers next week.

Called up from Triple-A Las Vegas last Saturday to replace the struggling Joey Estes in the rotation, Ginn spun a gem in his 2025 debut with the Athletics, limiting the Mets to one run on five hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings. He'll unsurprisingly stick around for another turn through the rotation, and Ginn's ability to keep the ball on the ground should come in handy at American Family Field, which has historically been one of the better ballparks in baseball for home-run production.

Ginn was two outs shy from registering the quality start, but it was still an excellent outing for the 25-year-old right-hander in what was the seventh major-league start in his career. Ginn is slated to start next week on the road against the Brewers.
