Josh Reddick (wrist) is out of the Athletics' lineup Thursday for the third straight game. Reddick was slated to take batting practice before the game, but evidently it didn't go well enough that the A's felt comfortable sticking him back in the lineup. He should be ready sometime over the weekend, though. Chris Young is drawing the start in right field.

Josh Reddick (wrist) thinks he might be ready to return to the lineup Thursday. He even wouldn't rule out being available to pinch-hit Wednesday. Reddick will take batting practice Thursday before a determination on his status is made. The A's could wind up playing it safe and rest him another day, but, either way, it appears a DL won't be needed.

Josh Reddick (wrist) could return to action Friday. Reddick sprained his right wrist on Sunday when he crashed into the wall while trying to make a catch in foul territory. The injury isn't expected to require a trip to the disabled list, but he'll need to swing a bat without pain before being cleared to return to action.

Josh Reddick hit a two-run double and ripped a two-run homer in Thursday's win over the Mariners. Reddick rudely greeted Brandon Maurer in his first major league inning with a longball, and his double also came off of the youngster in the sixth. After going hitless in the first three games of the season, it was a much welcomed breakout contest from the one with the mammoth beard.

Athletics manager Bob Melvin said Josh Reddick's (ankle) injury is minor and expects him to return to the lineup Sunday. Reddick slipped catching a flyball from Paul Konerko in the second inning of Friday's game and had to be removed with a sprained left ankle. The injury is not expected to impact his availability for Opening Day and the hope is that it's just a day-to-day situation.
