Athletics placed OF Josh Reddick on the 15-day disabled list with a right knee strain. It's the same knee that sent him to the DL last month. Reddick is still awaiting results of an MRI, though he did report improvement with the knee on Sunday. He'll be shut down for at least five days even if the MRI comes back clean.

Josh Reddick (knee) is expected to be placed on the disabled list. Reddick left Saturday's game against the Marlins with a strain of his right knee, which is the same knee that sent him to the DL late last month. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be sidelined. Nate Freiman will be recalled from Triple-A Sacramento to take Reddick's spot on the roster.

Reddick left Saturday's game against the Marlins with a right knee strain. Reddick was 1-for-1 prior to exiting. He hyperextended this same knee in late May and there is a good chance he will have to be placed back on the 15-day disabled list.

Josh Reddick (knee) played catch Tuesday and will resume other baseball activities Friday. Reddick suffered a hyperextended right knee on May 31 and is just now getting back to light workouts. He obviously won't be ready to return when first eligible on June 16. The hope is he's back by the end of this month.

Josh Reddick (knee) will be shut down from baseball activity during the Athletics' road trip that ends on June 11. An MRI on Reddick's right showed no structural damage, but it appears he's going to need longer than a minimum stay on the disabled list. Reddick is eligible to return on June 16. "We're concerned about it some, to the point where he's not doing anything for nine or 10 days," manager Bob Melvin said. "It's something we want to be careful with."
