Jay went 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and a run scored Wednesday in the Diamondbacks' 5-4 loss to the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
After going hitless with eight strikeouts in 12 at-bats over his first four games since being acquired by the Diamondbacks, Jay has gotten comfortable in his role as Arizona's leadoff man. He's registered five hits and has driven in five runs over the last two contests, which has kept the red-hot Diamondbacks offense humming. Jay shouldn't be relied upon for much power production -- he's recorded no more than three home runs in any of the past four seasons -- but his impressive contact skills and 8.2 percent walk rate should lend itself to plenty of run scoring atop the order.

Jay went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Arizona was in jeopardy of blowing an eight run lead, but Jay's first homer with his new club gave much needed insurance to help put them back up by five in the seventh inning. The trio of hits were his first three in the five games since being traded from Kansas City. He figures to see more frequent run scoring and run producing opportunities now leading off the more potent Diamondbacks offense.

Jay is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Jay has started three straight games since joining the Diamondbacks via trade last week, but he'll head to the bench to clear his head after going 0-for-12 with eight strikeouts in those contests. Daniel Descalso is starting in left field and hitting leadoff in his stead in this one.

Jay went 0-for-4 with a walk, a run and three strikeouts Friday in the Diamondbacks' 9-4 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Acquired from the Royals on Wednesday, Jay made his Arizona debut out of the leadoff spot in the series opener. While he didn't make much of an impact atop the order Friday, Jay's .360 on-base percentage should make him a useful table setter, at least against right-handed pitching. Jay, who is capable of playing all three outfield spots, made his first start with the club in right field, resulting in Chris Owings moving to the bench.

The Royals traded Jay to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday in exchange for Elvis Luciano and Gabe Speier, Maria Torres of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jay will provide much needed outfield depth for a Diamondbacks team that is currently without two of their starters, A.J. Pollock (thumb) and Steven Souza (pectoral). The veteran outfielder, who is hitting .307/.363/.374 across 59 games this season, should be afforded his fair share of at-bats in the short-term, though he could ultimately settle into a reserve role once the Diamondbacks are back to full strength.

Jay went 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Jay had his 12-game hit streak snapped after going 0-for-4 Friday, but bounced back with the two-hit performance Saturday. The 33-year-old now has a .305/.361/.363 slash line as he continues to hit leadoff for the Royals.

Jay went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a steal in Wednesday's win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
The stolen base was his second of the season -- and his first since March -- but Jay has stolen as many as 19 bases in a season previously. The lefty has driven in four runs over the last four games and continues to hit right around the .300 mark on the year.

Jay went 3-for-4 with a double, run scored, walk and a strikeout in Wednesday's loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Hitting in the leadoff spot, Jay did a good job setting the table for the rest of the lineup in reaching base a season-high four times. The 33-year-old isn't likely to provide much in the way of counting stats, but he's sporting a solid .299 average and .363 OBP through 164 at-bats.

Jay is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the White Sox, James Fegan of The Athletic Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jay heads to the bench Saturday and the Royals send left-hander Erik Skoglund to the mound. The 33-year-old has essentially been an everyday starter in Kansas City's outfield this season, and has a .244/.333/.289 line in 102 plate appearances.

Jay is out of the lineup Sunday against the Tigers, Joel Goldberg of FOX Sports Kansas City reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jay will be joined on the bench by fellow left-handed hitter Lucas Duda as manager Ned Yost looks to make room for more right-handed bats to counter Tigers southpaw Francisco Liriano. With Jay sitting out, switch hitter Abraham Almonte will pick up a start in the outfield.
