Jay is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Jay was included in the starting nine in the first two games of the series and came through with a base hit, triple and sacrifice fly in Tuesday's 5-1 win. The 33-year-old is reaching base at a respectable .343 clip for the season, but his lack of power makes him an optimal fit as a fourth outfielder than a regular starter. It appears the Diamondbacks concur, as Steven Souza, who has been heating up at the plate of late, has unseated Jay as the team's preferred option in right field.

Jay went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Sunday in the Diamondbacks' 5-1 loss to the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
The Diamondbacks were already in a 5-0 hole when Jay took reliever Dan Winkler deep in the top of the eighth inning, so the long ball ultimately proved inconsequential. It was the third home run of the campaign for Jay, matching his best mark from any of the past four seasons. The 33-year-old outfielder continues to earn his paycheck due to his strong contact skills, with any power production he delivers representing a nice bonus.

Jay went 2-for-6 with a double, three runs and an RBI in the Diamondbacks' 20-5 win over the Padres on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
As one would expect on a night where the Diamondbacks established a new franchise record for runs in a game, their table setter was instrumental to the cause. Jay got things going right away with a leadoff double, then watched as five of the Diamondbacks' next seven batters reached base in the five-run first inning. Jay has rebounded from a 1-for-34 showing at the dish over a 10-game stretch from June 24 to July 3 to deliver multi-hit performances in three consecutive starts.

Jay went 3-for-5 with a run scored Wednesday in the Diamondbacks' 8-4 loss to the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
It was a much-needed breakout performance for Jay, who has recorded just one hit in 34 at-bats over the Diamondbacks' previous 10 games. The prolonged drought wasn't enough for manager Torey Lovullo to remove him from the leadoff role, as Jay was back atop the lineup Wednesday. Since being acquired from the Royals on June 6, Jay has slashed .242/.336/.333 with 20 runs and nine RBI.

Jay is out of the lineup Sunday against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
After another 0-for-4 showing Saturday, Jay has failed to record a hit in any of his last seven games. The slump has sunk his average from .316 to .288, and could cost Jay a regular spot in the lineup once A.J. Pollock (thumb) is cleared to return from the 10-day disabled list, likely at some point later this week.

Jay went 0-for-5 in the Diamondbacks' 4-0 win over the Marlins on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Jay has gone hitless in 19 at-bats over his last five games, casting a pall over what had been a hot start to his Diamondbacks career. The outfielder had supplied a .920 OPS over his first 15 contests with Arizona, but that mark has fallen more than 200 points amid his ongoing slide at the plate. Jay still looks to be an everyday option for the Diamondbacks, though he could drop out of the leadoff role if he fails to pick up the pace during the club's weekend series with the Giants.

Jay is not starting Sunday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
The off day is just Jay's second since being shipped to the Diamondbacks in early June. The veteran is hitting an excellent .333/.437/.483 through his first 15 games with his new club. Chris Owings will get the start in right field Sunday.

Jay went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two runs and two RBI in the Diamondbacks' 9-3 win over the Pirates on Thursday. He also reached base on a hit by pitch.
EDGE Analysis
Both of Jay's doubles came in the first two innings, lifting his average to .340 in his 13 games since being acquired from the Royals on June 6. The Diamondbacks will face some crowding issues in the outfield once A.J. Pollock (thumb) and Steven Souza (pectoral) return from the disabled list -- likely at some point in July -- but Jay has probably done enough thus far to maintain a regular spot in the lineup. He carries a .775 OPS on the campaign, the highest mark he has posted since his debut season with the Cardinals in 2010.

Jay went 2-for-5 with a run scored Monday in the Diamondbacks' 7-4 triumph over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Jay has recorded multiple base knocks in five of his 10 starts with the Diamondbacks, providing the team with a much-needed contact hitter atop the lineup. While his paucity of power and lack of involvement in the run game don't make him the most exciting player to own in fantasy leagues, Jay's high average -- he's hitting .308 across 316 plate appearances -- shouldn't be overlooked with the MLB-wide mark sitting at a collective .245 this season.

Jay went 3-for-5 with a triple, a pair of runs and an RBI in Arizona's 7-3 win over the Mets on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Jay continues to take to his new surroundings following a brief 0-for-12 skid to begin his Diamondbacks tenure, as he's now a blistering 10-for-15 with a home run, six runs and six RBI over his last four games. He hasn't provided much power this season, as he has just two home runs and a .390 slugging percentage. However, he's providing solid value elsewhere, with a .376 on-base percentage, 37 runs and 12 extra-base hits over 267 at-bats. Jay also could see an even greater uptick in value as a source of runs in the short term hitting ahead of Diamondbacks slugger Paul Goldschmidt, who is currently in the midst of an epic hot streak.
