Gray threw four innings allowing four runs on six hits and a walk, striking out three in a slugfest win over the Nationals on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Gray was fortunate that his teammates put up nine runs in the first two innings to give them a commanding 9-2 lead, but failed to capitalize as he didn't last the five innings required to earn a win. Gray has now failed to reach the fifth inning in each of his three most recent starts, although he's allowed fewer runs each time, eight, six, and now four.. The young right-hander's ERA has now ballooned to 4.69, up from 3.77 on August 6th. He'll look to right the ship against the Brewers on Tuesday.

Gray (8-6) gave up seven runs (six earned) on six hits and four walks in Friday's 10-6 loss to the Phillies. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Gray has enjoyed a solid season overall but couldn't get settled for the second straight start. He still managed to notch an impressive 14 swinging strikes but got into trouble early, allowing an RBI single to Odubel Herrera in the first and an RBI double to Peter Bourjos in the second. Gray then allowed Bourjos to score on a wild pitch and eventually gave up a mammoth three-run blast to Ryan Howard in the fifth that put an end to his night. The 24-year-old has now surrendered 15 runs (14 earned) on 16 hits and five walks over the eight innings covering his last two starts. He'll try to turn things around when he takes on the Nationals in a rematch next Wednesday.

Gray was pummeled for eight runs on 10 hits and a walk across just 3.2 innings in Sunday's start versus the Marlins. He struck out three and fell to 8-5 on the season.
EDGE Analysis
The Marlins got to Gray early in this one, as he gave up four runs in the first inning before another four-run rally, capped off by a two-run homer from Giancarlo Stanton, chased him from the game in the fourth. The poor performance ended an impressive run of results for Gray, who hadn't yielded more than three earned runs in any of his previous six outings and had posted a 1.64 ERA during that span. He will look to get back on track Friday at the Phillies.

Gray (8-4) threw five shutout innings, allowed just two hits and two walks and struck out six in a win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
The only problem for Gray was inefficiency, as he needed 96 pitches to get through five innings. Dodgers hitters managed a ridiculous 31 foul balls against him, which kept Gray from closing out at-bats early enough to go deeper into the ballgame. Still, he pounded the strike zone (65 strikes, 31 balls) and kept the ball in the ballpark, which allowed him to record his first home shutout start of the season, an impressive feat for any Rockies pitcher.

Gray (7-4) was dominant Wednesday, holding a potent Orioles offense to just one run over seven innings on five hits and two walks while earning the win. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Gray's lone blemish was a solo homer by young superstar Manny Machado in the sixth inning. He's now thrown three straight starts of seven innings or more, and five consecutive quality starts to lower his ERA to 3.94 over 109.2 innings pitched. Gray's 114:35 K:BB rate is solid, and there is little reason to think that the young right-hander's success won't continue moving forward.

Gray (6-4) pitched seven innings Friday, allowing one run, six hits and one walk while striking out eight Braves in the win.
EDGE Analysis
Gray was outstanding Friday, tossing 64 percent of his deliveries for strikes, including 12 swing-and-miss pitches. The win was his first since June 27, and it kept Gray unbeaten at home this year. Gray has been a bit unlucky of late and should have more to show for how well he's been pitching. In his previous three starts, the Rockies offense pathetically mustered just four total tuns for Gray. The sophomore right-hander has struck out eight hitters in four of his last five outings, and has recorded four consecutive quality starts. It's worth noting that his two most recent starts have both come against Atlanta, the league's worst team.

Gray (5-4) came away with a no-decision Sunday despite shutting out the Braves for seven innings, allowing five hits and three walks while striking out eight.
EDGE Analysis
The outing was his third straight quality start in July and brings Gray's ERA down to a season-low 4.33. He's got an impressive 20:8 K:BB in 19.1 innings on the month, but he'll still be a risky choice in his next start Friday, back home at Coors Field in a rematch against Atlanta.

Gray (5-3) allowed four runs on five hits and struck out eight over seven innings in a win Monday over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Gray was touched up for a pair of home runs, from Edwin Encarnacion and Devon Travis, which is almost to be expected against the Blue Jays at Coors Field. Other than that, he was excellent, as he induced nine swinging strikes and eight groundouts over 101 pitches. Gray now has five starts with at least eight strikeouts in 13 outings this year after achieving the mark just once in nine outings last year.

Gray (arm) said Friday that he's ready to go for Monday's start against the Blue Jays, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander said Thursday that he anticipated taking Monday's turn, and a successful side session Friday did away with any lingering doubt in his mind. Gray battled some arm fatigue during Wednesday's game, which resulted in an abbreviated outing, and he will come with plenty of risk Monday at Coors Field (5.02 ERA at home this season).

Gray (arm) indicated Thursday that he anticipates making his next scheduled start Monday against the Blue Jays, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gray was pulled from Wednesday's game due to some arm fatigue, and the issue has reportedly been an issue over the past couple weeks. All indications are that he will be ready to go for his next start, but it's best to monitor the situation to ensure that is the case.
