Gray lasted only 3.2 innings Wednesday against the visiting Pirates, allowing six runs on nine hits and a walk, but avoided the loss.
EDGE Analysis
His teammates came back, tied the game and sent it to extra innings, bailing Gray out for a rough start. The No. 3 overall pick just three years ago, Gray has enticing strikeout ability, but Coors Field has been the same house of horrors for him that it is for basically every other pitcher. That said, fantasy players should be willing to look past the numbers and remember that he has the stuff to be an intriguing play when he draws road starts.

Gray (abdomen) made his season debut Friday, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out 10 en route to his no decision.
EDGE Analysis
Gray's season got off to an inauspicious start, as he allowed three runs on a pair of long balls in the first inning, but he settled down and was only scored upon again when he put men on base in the fifth. He has the stuff to become a useful fantasy pitcher in time, but the Coors Field factor remains detrimental to his value. A home date with the Pirates on Wednesday now awaits.

Gray (abdomen) has been activated off the 15-day disabled list and he will get the start Friday against the Dodgers, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was announced Thursday that Gray would get the start for the Rockies' series opener against Los Angeles, but the club hadn't made it official until it activated him from the DL. Gray will take the spot of Miguel Castro, who was placed on the disabled list due to right shoulder inflammation. Friday marks Gray's first start of the season, and he'll be put to the test right off the bat as he'll be facing an explosive Dodgers lineup.

Gray (abdomen) has been confirmed as the Rockies' starter for Friday's game against the Dodgers, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
An abdominal strain landed Gray on the disabled list to start the season, but he has ramped up his activity of late and recently finished up a rehab assignment at High-A Modesto. He'll make his season debut Friday at home against an explosive Dodgers' lineup. In his lone start against the Dodgers last season, Gray allowed two earned runs over just 4.2 innings of work, but he was able to strike out eight batters in that short outing.

Gray (abdomen) expects to start Friday against the Dodgers, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gray started the season on the 15-day DL but appears to be ready to make his return to the Rockies' rotation Friday. It is likely that he steps into the fifth spot in the rotation but his fantasy value is questionable after posting a 5.53 ERA in nine starts in 2015.

Manager Walt Weiss said that the team has not decided whether Gray (abdomen) will rejoin the rotation upon his return to the Rockies, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gray successfully completed two rehab starts with High-A Modesto, but the Rockies want to wait a couple days before inserting him back into the rotation. The right-hander is expected to be back with Colorado on Monday, so his rotation status should gain some clarity fairly soon.

Gray (abdomen) will pitch for High-A Modesto on Friday, before presumably rejoining the Rockies' rotation, the Denver Post's Patrick Saunders reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gray is pain free, and Friday's rehab outing should represent his final tuneup before heading back to the big leagues. He would be on track to step into the rotation for next weekend's series at home against the Dodgers. Gray has the stuff to profile near the front of a big league rotation, but it's always risky to use him when the Rockies are at home. That said, he is an excellent streaming option in his road starts.

Gray (abdomen) pitched four innings in a rehab start with High-A Modesto on Sunday, giving up two runs on four hits, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gray pitched decently in his rehab appearance, but more importantly, he came out of the outing healthy. He's expected to make one more rehab appearance, but then he'll rejoin the Rockies rotation in place of Christian Bergman, who's scheduled to make a spot start for him Thursday.

Gray (abdomen) is planning on pitching 70-75 pitches in a rehab start Friday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Where the rehab start will be is currently unknown, but no matter where it ends up taking place, this is a very good sign for the right-hander. Gray said that he may make two rehab starts prior to joining the Rockies rotation, but he also added that he's feeling very good at the moment. This development keeps him on pace for a return in mid- to late-April.

Gray (abdomen) threw a 55-pitch live batting practice session Monday, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.
EDGE Analysis
He starts the year on the 15-day DL, with the likes of Christian Bergman ready to fill-in if Gray isn't ready by the time the Rockies need a fifth starter on April 14 or 16. His status will continue to be updated as Gray progresses, but Monday's session represents and encouraging sign.
