Gray allowed one run on four hits and two walks across eight innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Brewers. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
Gray was outstanding in this one, throwing 67 percent of his pitches for strikes as he scattered baserunners throughout the afternoon. The only real damage against his ledger came on a solo home run in the second inning, and he was only denied a win by a late bullpen collapse before his team won in extra innings. Gray still has a disappointing 4.73 ERA on the season, but this stellar outing brings his mark to 1.52 as he's now delivered four quality starts in as many outings. He'll look to build off one of his finest performances of the season next weekend against the Dodgers.

Gray (9-7) allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits in a win over the Cardinals on Tuesday, striking out five and walking two in 7.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
The only extra-base hit Gray allowed was a leadoff home run by Matt Carpenter, and he threw 64 of 92 pitches for strikes the rest of the way. Gray has now thrown three consecutive quality starts and has not taken a loss in his last six starts. He's still riding a high 4.99 ERA but has an excellent 136:34 K:BB in 113.2 innings. The righty will next face off against the Brewers in a start in Milwaukee.

Gray allowed two runs (one earned) on two walks and a hit while striking out six over seven innings in Wednesday's win over the Astros. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Gray was terrific in this one, as the only hit he allowed was a Jose Altuve double in the fourth inning. An error and a catchers interference in the frame led to a pair of runs coming around to score, and the Colorado bats didn't provide much in the way of run support. Nevertheless, it was another very sharp outing for the 26-year-old and it appears his brief demotion back to the minors has had the intended effect. In two starts since being called back up, Gray has allowed just two earned runs with 12 strikeouts versus three walks over 14.1 innings. He'll take a 5.16 ERA into Tuesday's clash against the Cardinals.

Gray will make his next start for the Rockies on Wednesday against the Astros at Coors Field, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gray had been a candidate to take the hill for the series finale in Arizona on Sunday, but the Rockies ultimately decided to bring Antonio Senzatela off the 10-day disabled list to start that contest after Senzatela completed a 35-pitch bullpen session Friday without issue. It's a tough break for Gray, who will now miss out on a start in a more suppressed offensive environment in Arizona and exchange it for a matchup at altitude against one of the top offenses in the majors. Fantasy owners who scooped Gray up after he tossed 7.1 innings of one-run ball at home against the Mariners in his return to the big leagues July 14 may thus want to keep the right-hander on the bench for the time being.

Gray will be recalled prior to Saturday's matchup against Seattle as he's slated to get the start.
EDGE Analysis
Gray was surprisingly shipped to the minor leagues at the end of June after making 17 starts for the Rockies this season. He posted a 5.77 ERA and 1.49 WHIP with a 119:29 K:BB over 92 innings. With both Antonoia Senzatela (finger) and Chad Bettis (finger) on the 10-day disabled list, Gray will have another chance to show he belongs in the starting rotation.

Gray was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The move comes as something of a shock, as Gray was supposed to be the Rockies' ace. On the surface, there appears to be some logic to the decision, as Gray's ERA stands at an ugly 5.77 on the year. The underlying numbers don't support the notion that Gray is struggling though, as he's posted an excellent 28.9 percent strikeout rate and a solid 7.0 percent walk rate. His FIP is a very good 3.07 while his xFIP is a stellar 2.77. His high ERA is attributable in part to an inflated .386 BABIP and a low 63.1 percent left on base rate. The Rockies, however, were unwilling to let regression take its course, though it would hardly be surprising to see Gray up and successful again later in the year. Raimel Tapia was promoted in a corresponding move.

Gray threw four innings on Thursday, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks in Thursday's 9-8. He struck out seven and allowed a home run while not factoring in to the decision.
EDGE Analysis
After allowing just one run in his last outing, Gray got rocked once again. His season ERA spiked to 5.77 in 92 innings, but he has 119 strikeouts as well. He's allowed three or more runs in eight of his last nine outings. Gray will get another shot at the Giants next Tuesday.

Gray allowed six runs (five earned) in five-plus innings Sunday, striking out nine while yielding six hits and a walk in a 13-12 loss to Texas.
EDGE Analysis
Gray was solid through five innings on the afternoon, allowing just one run and striking out nine. Things unraveled in the sixth though, as Gray gave up five runs without recording an out, including a three-run blast by Jurickson Profar that would be the nail in the coffin on his start. The 26-year-old's already-ugly ERA rose up to 5.89 and he's allowed three or more earned runs in his last seven starts. He'll look to turn things around against Miami next Friday.

Gray (6-7) allowed four runs on three hits and four walks across six innings to take the loss Tuesday against the Phillies. He struck out 10.
EDGE Analysis
Gray struggled with his command in this one, throwing just 57 percent of his pitches for strikes as he set a new season high in walks. That came back to bite him early on as a pair of first inning free passes proceeded a three-run home run by Scott Kingery. Wildness aside, Gray did well to regain his composure after a poor opening frame and racked up double-digit strikeouts for the third time this season. Punchouts are his only real source of fantasy value at the moment, with his 10.8 K/9 coming alongside a hefty 5.68 ERA and a 1.49 WHIP.

Gray gave up six earned runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out 10 in 5.1 innings Sunday against the Brewers. He took the loss.
EDGE Analysis
This is the danger with starting any Rockies pitcher at home, even their ace, as Gray now has a 5.09 ERA and .278 batting average against in 23 innings through four home starts this season. He also boasts 26 strikeouts over that span, so at least his owners can bank on help in one category when he takes the ball in Coors Field. Gray will start in San Francisco on Saturday, which is a must-start in most formats.
