Gray (2-4) picked up the win over the Padres on Wednesday, allowing three hits and a walk over six scoreless innings while striking out 11.
EDGE Analysis
After coughing up 18 runs in 15.2 innings over his last three starts, Gray roared back with his best start yet in 2018. The right-hander threw 65 of 101 pitches for strikes and generated a massive 23 swinging strikes, which after the game he credited to a change in the grip on his slider. Gray will next take the mound Tuesday on the road against the Cubs.

Gray (1-4) gave up seven runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out just one and walking three, picking up the loss in Colorado's 16-5 defeat to the Cubs on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
After an encouraging start to the season that saw him give up three earned runs over his first 11 innings, Gray has now given up at least five runs in each of his last three outings to bring his ERA up to 6.75 in 26.2 innings. He's a risky fantasy play until he shows signs of re-establishing his form of last year when he put up a respectable 3.67 ERA in 110.1 innings - and the fact that he pitches his home games at hitter-friendly Coors Field doesn't help his dimming fantasy prospects.

Gray (1-3) allowed five runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out six in 5.2 innings pitched en route to the loss Saturday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Although his stat line doesn't show it, Gray pitched well Saturday. He only allowed one run through five innings (a Matt Wieters home run in the fourth), but the wheels fell off in the fifth due to a number of two-strike hits by Washington hitters. Nonetheless, Gray now holds an unsightly 6.23 ERA on the season, a number which he'll look to improve upon in his next start Friday against the Cubs.

Gray (1-2) allowed seven runs on 10 hits and one walk across five innings while earning the loss Monday against the Padres. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Gray escaped some early trouble with just one run against, but an RBI double and a pair of home runs in the fourth inning took that tally to six. He allowed another run before completing the fifth in what was a disappointing performance against a team he dominated last week. Gray has sandwiched poor starts around one strong outing so far and will take a 5.63 ERA into Saturday's scheduled start against the Nationals.

Gray (1-1) picked up the win over the Padres on Wednesday, striking out seven over seven scoreless innings while scattering four hits.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander threw 63 of 93 pitches for strikes, and San Diego didn't even get a runner into scoring position until Cory Spangenberg led off the fifth inning with a double. Gray's off to a fast start to the season with a 2.45 ERA and 11:3 K:BB through his first 11 innings, but things could get a little more challenging Monday when he makes his first home start in a rematch with the Padres.

Gray (0-1) allowed three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four over four innings in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
This is how Gray's night began: single, single, walk, double, mound visit. He settled down from there, but the damage was done. Gray has posted exciting strikeout rates since breaking into the league in 2015 (career 9.5 K/9), and he has a more favorable road matchup on tap next (at San Diego). There's no reason to abandon ship after one shaky outing.

Gray was officially named the Rockies' Opening Day starter Tuesday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's hardly an unexpected move, as Gray is clearly the best starter on the Rockies. The 26-year-old managed a 3.67 ERA and a 3.18 FIP in 20 starts last season despite eight of those coming in the worst park in the league for pitchers. He actually managed a better ERA at home (3.13) last year than on the road (4.06). Even if Coors Field inflates his ERA somewhat this year, his 24.3 percent strikeout rate makes him a solid option in most formats.

Gray has allowed nine earned runs on 13 hits in 8.1 innings pitched this spring.
EDGE Analysis
Health issues aside, the Rockies' ace took major strides as a starter last season, producing a 3.67 ERA in 20 starts. He even found success at the hitter-friendly Coors Field, sporting a 3.13 home ERA by season's end while allowing just four homers on the season in Denver. Gray is getting shelled this spring, but it's likely a result of some mechanical tweaks he's making. Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports that Gray is adjusting the grip on his changeup and experimenting with different windups this spring, albeit without the results one would hope for. At this point, the young right-hander seems to be more focused on adding to his repertoire and seeing what works and what isn't. If he can command his altered offering by the end of spring training, that could be a boon to his value.

Manager Bud Black officially announced Sunday that Gray will start Wednesday's N.L. Wild Card game against the Diamondbacks, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This announcement doesn't come as much of a surprise, as Gray was clearly the Rockies' best starter during the regular season. The 25-year-old compiled a 10-4 record while posting a 3.67 ERA (3.17 FIP) and 24.3 percent strikeout rate over 110.1 innings pitched. He'll face a tough test against a potent Diamondbacks' lineup in hitter-friendly Chase Field.

Gray (10-4) allowed three runs on six hits while striking out five batters through six innings to take the win against Miami on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Gray has now won four of his past five starts and has worked himself down to a 3.67 ERA and 1.30 WHIP for the campaign. Alongside his 9.1 K/9, Gray has turned in a solid campaign considering he missed approximately a month and a half with a foot injury and calls Coors Field home. Pitching in a hitter-friendly home park will always cap his fantasy upside, but Gray's strong stretch to finish the regular season has showcased why he was the third overall selection in the 2013 Amateur Draft.
