Panik batted second and went 2-for-4 with a double, a pair of RBI and a run scored in Sunday's win over Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
Panik had been batting leadoff while Denard Span was sidelined, but moved back down the order upon his return. With Hunter Pence (hamstring) in danger of landing on the disabled list, San Francisco's second baseman could be in store for more playing time atop the lineup. The 26-year-old was already generating deep-league interest with a .278 batting average 15 runs and 11 RBI, but moving up to second in the batting order makes him a tad bit more intriguing.

Panik went 2-for-4 while batting leadoff in Monday's loss to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Part of the Giants' early offensive struggles have been their inability to get runners on base in front of Buster Posey. Panik has helped alleviate that issue while Denard Span (shoulder) has been on the disabled list, While the latter is about to embark on a rehab assignment, manager Bruce Bochy may stick with his second baseman atop the lineup due to his .299 batting average and .358 on-base percentage this season. If he stays in the top-third of the order, Panik should see an increase in projected runs scored (currently has 13).

Panik is not in the lineup Saturday against the Reds, Andrew Baggarly of The Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik will take a seat after starting each of the past seven games. The 26-year-old has had a nice showing at the plate this season, slashing .293/.357/.394 through 29 games. Kelby Tomlinson will get the start at second base in his place.

Panik is starting at second and leading off in Friday's game against the Reds, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik has been hitting in the No. 7 spot for the past four games, but done enough to warrant a move back to the top of the order. The lefty leads the Giants with a .305 batting average and has reached base in six straight contests.

Panik is playing second base and batting leadoff Friday against the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
This will be the second time Panik has hit in the leadoff spot this season, going 2-for-4 with two doubles in his first stint atop the order. Manager Bruce Bochy mentioned Panik, along with Brandon Belt, as possible leadoff hitters against right-handed pitchers, so he should continue to see favorable placement in the lineup against righties if he keeps producing.

Panik is not in the Giants' Thursday lineup against the Dodgers, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty-hitting second baseman takes a seat against Dodgers southpaw Julio Urias, with Kelby Tomlinson taking his place. Panik, who's batting .314/.375/.443 in his first 80 plate appearances of 2017, should be back in there Friday against the Dodgers' Kenta Maeda.

Panik batted eighth and went 2-for-4 with a walk, a steal, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's win over Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
Panik spent a short period of time batting second in the lineup while Buster Posey (concussion) was sidelined, but he returned to his usual spot low in the order upon the catcher's return. The 26-year-old is quietly having a bounce-back campaign, slashing .319/.389/.447 through 54 plate appearances. He doesn't offer much in the power and speed departments, but if Panik continues to get on base the way he has early on, then the Giants could move him closer to the top of the lineup, which would create the potential for more counting stats.

Panik was slotted in the two-hole Thursday, going 1-for-3 with a walk in a 3-1 loss to the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Bruce Bochy shook up his Buster Posey-less lineup Thursday, moving the 26-year-old into a familiar spot in the lineup. Panik has earned the temporary promotion, slashing .344/.421/.531 through 10 games, numbers closer to his effective seasons in 2014 and 2015. Posey (concussion) isn't expected to remain sidelined for a long time, but Panik could make a case for sticking in the No. 2 slot if he can produce over the next few games. Batting higher in the order should result in more at-bats and counting stats, boosting the second baseman's deep-league value in the short term.

EDGE Analysis
As was the case during Thursday's game, Panik will head to the bench and be replaced by veteran Aaron Hill. The starting second baseman should be back in the lineup Monday against the Diamondbacks.

Panik is starting at second base and leading off Friday in San Diego, the San Francisco Chronicle's Henry Schulman reports.
EDGE Analysis
After batting only eighth or ninth so far this season, Panik moves to the top of the lineup while Gorkys Hernandez slips to the eight hole against righty Luis Perdomo. This is a favorable spot for Panik, but a run in the leadoff spot may be short-lived, assuming Denard Span (hip) gets healthy in the coming days. Panik is slashing .385/.400/.615 with one double, one triple, three runs and two RBI in 13 at-bats.
