Panik (thumb) is starting at second base and hitting seventh Wednesday against the Royals, Amy Gutierrez of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
After missing four straight games with a thumb injury, Panik returns to man the keystone, as expected. He is hitting .224/.298/.360 with two home runs and one steal over his last 125 at-bats. Panik, who bats left-handed, has a fairly favorable matchup against righty Jason Hammel.

Manager Bruce Bochy reported Tuesday that Panik (thumb) will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Tuesday's absence, Panik will have missed four consecutive games due to his sprained thumb. Fortunately for the Giants and Panik's concerned fantasy owners, it appears that the thumb is on the mend as the second baseman will return to action Wednesday.

Panik (thumb) is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Royals, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants were hoping Panik would be ready to return to the lineup by Tuesday's series opener, but it appears the thumb injury that kept him out over the weekend will is still bothering the 26-year-old enough to give him an extra day. Panik remains a day-to-day case, while Aaron Hill will again start at the keystone in his stead.

Panik (thumb) will stay out of the lineup until Tuesday's series opener against the Royals, but is available to come off the bench this weekend, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik suffered a mild thumb sprain that caused him to miss Friday's contest, with the injury occurring on his glove hand. The 26-year-old should be good to go by Tuesday, but will be replaced by Aaron Hill at second base for the time being.

Panik will miss multiple games due to a mild thumb sprain that also kept him out of Friday's game against Minnesota, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injury is to Panik's left (glove) hand. An MRI didn't reveal anything more serious than a mild strain. The Giants have an off day Monday before beginning a series Tuesday against the Royals; expect him back by then at the latest.

Panik went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI during Thursday's win over Milwaukee.
EDGE Analysis
It was just the third round tripper of the season for Panik. The second baseman has been struggling along with the rest of the Giants and is hardly moving the fantasy needle. Panik owns a .255/.326/.380 slash line with only 18 RBI and 22 runs.

Panik is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Nationals, Alec Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik is just 1-for-22 (.045) over his last six games, so he'll head to the bench Tuesday to clear his mind. Aaron Hill will fill in for him at second base for the contest.

Panik batted leadoff and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Monday's win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
With Denard Span (thumb) sidelined Monday, the Giants' second baseman was asked to fill the void atop the lineup and did so in fine fashion. The 26-year-old's power stroke was aided by gusty winds that were blowing out of Wrigley, collecting three extra-base hits despite entering the contest with just eight over his previous 169 plate appearances. If Span is forced to miss more time, the Panik would see a brief uptick in value for run potential hitting out of the leadoff spot.

Panik is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik will head to the bench after starting the last nine games for the Giants. Christian Arroyo will draw the start at second base in his stead, though Panik should be back in the lineup for the series finale Wednesday.
