Panik (head) is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik was shaken up during Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader, and although he passed concussion protocol following the game, the Giants will give him a day off to rest. He'll continue to be considered day-to-day; it doesn't sound like he'll be sidelined for too long at this point. Kelby Tomlinson is starting in his place at the keystone, and will likely continue to do so for any time Panik ends up missing.

Panik (head) underwent testing for a concussion Sunday and passed, Andrew Baggarly of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik was shaken up after being tagged on the head in the second game of a doubleheader Sunday in Washington. It sounds like he's okay, though, so an extended absence for the second baseman doesn't seem likely at this point. Consider him day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener in Miami.

Panik went 1-for-4 with a solo homer Saturday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Panik hit his seventh homer of the year in the second inning to put the Giants on the board in a road loss. This was his second homer since June 22, and his .264/.322/.390 slash line makes him a weak fantasy option.

Panik is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Cubs, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik will head to the bench as manager Bruce Bochy sends out a righty-heavy lineup against southpaw Jose Quintana. Miguel Gomez will start at second base in his stead.

Panik returned to the lineup Monday, going 2-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old has spent two of the previous three games on the bench against left-handed starters. Panik owns fairly even splits against both righties (.267/.327/.414) and lefties (.265/.323/.327), but the sinking Giants want to get a look at Miguel Gomez down the stretch. A platoon situation slightly damages the second baseman's already-limited fantasy value, but he should still receive enough starts per week in the top third of San Francisco's lineup to stay relevant in very deep formats.

Panik is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, Jody Jackson of Fox Sports Arizona reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Diamondbacks will send the left-handed Patrick Corbin to the mound, so Panik heads to the bench for the second time in the past three games. Miguel Gomez will man second base in his stead, batting sixth.

With lefty Anthony Banda toeing the slab Friday evening, Panik will head to the bench for a night off. Kelby Tomlinson will man second base in his stead.

Panik went 3-for-5 with an RBI in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old had been slumping over his previous 10 contests (6-for-40), so Sunday's three-hit outburst could be a sign that he is turning things around at the plate. Panik has taken over for Eduardo Nunez (trade) batting second in the order, but the Giants' anemic offense may not afford him as many scoring opportunities as traditional two-hole hitters. The second baseman's pedestrian .267/.322/.396 triple slash limits his value to deep and NL-only formats.

Panik is out of the lineup Saturday against the Dodgers, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik receives a day off following four straight starts, while Miguel Gomez mans the keystone during Saturday's matinee affair. Since the All-Star break Panik is hitting just .188/.204/.333, but is in line for more opportunities after moving up to the two spot in the order, following Eduardo Nunez's departure.

Panik is starting at second base and batting second for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik takes over the regular batting order slot of recently-traded Eduardo Nunez, a major opportunity for increased fantasy production if he can get back on track. The second baseman, who hit .346 with a .930 OPS last month, is just 8-for-40 since the All-Star break, propelling his fall down the batting order. He should see a few more at-bats moving forward, however, and it could possibly spur a quick turnaround.
