Mauer (oblique) will likely come off the disabled list Monday when first eligible, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Mauer went 2-for-4 in a rehab assignment with Low-A Cedar Rapids on Saturday and 6-for-15 in his four games with the team. He appears to be ready to rejoin the roster, and will look to improve on his .271 season average at the big league level.

The Twins are expected to activate Mauer from the disabled list Monday, which may enable him to make one more appearance for the Kernels on Sunday as he makes his final adjustments in anticipation of reprising his role as the Twins' first baseman.

Mauer (oblique) did not play Thursday, but will play Friday for Low-A Cedar Rapids, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
He got a scheduled day off Thursday to ease him back into action. He went 1-for-6 in his first two games on his rehab assignment. If all goes well he could be activated from the DL on Monday.

Mauer (oblique) went 1-for-3 Tuesday in his first game while on a rehab assignment a Low-A Cedar Rapids.
Mauer played DH and had just three at-bats, but he did have to run from second to home on a close play which showed he was moving well. He may play in Cedar Rapids through the weekend before rejoining Minnesota.

Mauer (oblique) is expected to rehab at Low-A Cedar Rapids through this weekend before rejoining the Twins for next week's series at Houston, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
It's unclear whether Mauer will return for the series opener Monday, but the three-game set should include an appearance from the first baseman at some point. In the meantime, he'll commence his rehab assignment Tuesday at Cedar Rapids, with the potential for another stop along his road to recovery.

Mauer is slowly but surely recovering from an oblique strain that's kept him out since July 2. He'll likely need a short rehab assignment before being activated, but the 31-year-old appears on track for a return in the first few weeks of August.

The next step is taking live batting practice, though that hasn't been scheduled yet. Mauer has been swinging a bat for a few days now and hasn't had any setbacks, which is obviously a good sign. A return sometime next week would seem to be doable.

It's a nice step after he took dry swings over the weekend, but a clear timetable for his return won't be known until he faces live pitching. Mauer has been out since early July with a strained right oblique.
