Mauer went 4-fo-5 with a home run in Saturday's win over Kansas City. After underperforming the first two months of the season, Mauer has improved at the plate as he's hitting .367/.458/.531 in his last 15 games.

Mauer is out of the lineup Wednesday against Reds. Mauer has caught a bit of a hot streak at the plate recently, collecting a hit in his last five games and in nine of his last 10 games to raise his average from .254 to .263 on the season. He'll receive a day off Wednesday, however, with Kennys Vargas receiving the start and batting fifth in his place.

Mauer went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 2-1 win over the Cardinals on Thursday. The long ball was just Mauer's third of the year, and the RBI that went with it was just his second in the last 11 games. That had been the only category where Mauer was providing positive fantasy value earlier this year, and with the way his batting average has fallen off since its early-May peak, he's not offering much outside of AL-only formats.

Mauer went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in Friday's loss to Milwaukee. It was just Mauer's second home run of the season. Mauer has just a .700 OPS and a .327 OBP. Both marks would be the lowest for any season in his career, so hopefully this performance helps turn his season around.

Mauer will sit out the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday against the Red Sox, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. While Mauer will sit out of the first of two contests Wednesday, it seems likely his name will be on the second of the day. For the first game, Trevor Plouffe slides over from third to cover first, while Eduardo Escobar serves at third base.

Mauer went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in a 6-4 loss to Toronto on Friday. The near-total evaporation of Mauer's contributions in home runs and batting average makes him hard to own in shallower leagues, but those in deeper formats can appreciate his contributions, as he's on a 96-RBI pace this season. Despite hitting just a single homer out of the three-hole, Mauer's clutch hitting has been one of the prime reasons that the Twins sit just a game out of first place in the AL Central.

Mauer is out of the lineup Saturday, ESPN Chicago's Doug Padilla reports. He hit his first home run of the year earlier this week and will get a rare day off Saturday. Trevor Plouffe will get the start at first base and hit third.

Mauer went 2-for-6 in Wednesday's win over Pittsburgh, with his 13th-inning homer -- his first of the year -- providing the difference. If you've been wondering where Mauer's power has been, well, 2009 was a long time ago. Still, he's hitting a respectable .284 and has managed to drive in plenty of runs without hitting the ball out of the yard, as his 24 RBI in 39 games have him on pace to clear 90 for the season.

Mauer is out of the lineup Thursday, the Star Tribune's LaVelle Neal reports. This appears to be just a standard day off for Neal, with Kennys Vargas slotting in as the first baseman. Mauer has been a staple in the Twins' lineup this season and is getting on base at a .361 clip.

Mauer went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs in Wednesday's loss to the Tigers. The nice day lifted his average to .300 for the first time since the fourth game of the season. Mauer has certainly had no problem getting on base, with a .380 OBP, but his slugging percentage is just barely higher than that at .388, as he's still looking for his first homer of the year.
