Mauer is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
There has been nothing to suggest an injury is in play and he just rested last Sunday, so it seems Mauer's absence is largely due to his recent slump (4-or-26 since the All-Star break) and season-long struggles against left-handed pitching (.222/.271/.300). Lefty David Price is toeing the rubber for Boston on Saturday. Mauer's spot in the top third of the lineup against right-handers should be safe but he could ride the pine more often against southpaws down the stretch.

Mauer is out of the lineup Sunday against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
After Saturday's game went 11 innings, Mauer will be granted a day out of the field in the series finale. Kennys Vargas takes his spot at first base.

Mauer is not in Friday's lineup against the Rangers, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old will get a regular day off after starting six of the club's seven games this month. One of the reasons Mauer is not in the lineup is due to the fact that he is 0-for-12 in his lifetime against Cole Hamels, who is on the mound for Texas on Friday. In his place, Kennys Vargas will get the start at first base.

Mauer went 3-for-5 with an RBI and scored once in Wednesday's victory against the A's.
EDGE Analysis
Mauer broke a scoreless tie when he ripped an RBI double into the left-center-field gap in the fifth. It was the veteran's first RBI since June 15. He'll hit the break batting .268/.370/.383 with seven homers and 27 RBI in 295 at-bats through the first half of the season.

Mauer is not in the lineup for the Twins Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Vargas will get the nod at first base while Grossman will start at designated hitter Tuesday. Mauer showed signs of breaking out of his slump Monday, collecting two hits and walking once. This was the first time Mauer had more than one hit in a game since June 21.

Mauer went 2-for-3 with a walk in Monday's loss to Oakland. He ended a 6-for-48 slump over his last 13 games.
EDGE Analysis
Despite seven home runs, Mauer is slugging just .376 as he has just eight doubles. While Mauer's walk rate has ended a three-year decline, the Twins need more power out of their first base spot.

Updating a previous report, Mauer was added to the lineup Sunday against the Rangers, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. He'll bat second and play first base.
EDGE Analysis
The Twins had scheduled a day off for Mauer with lefty Cole Hamels taking the ball for the Rangers, but Mauer's replacement, Trevor Plouffe, complained of sore ribs prior to the game, resulting in manager Paul Molitor making a late lineup switch. Mauer has gone hitless with a pair of strikeouts in nine career at-bats against Hamels.

Mauer is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rangers, MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mauer's day off likely has much to do with southpaw Cole Hamels being on the mound for the Rangers. Twins manager Paul Molitor will avoid the lefty-on-lefty matchup by deploying the right-handed hitting Trevor Plouffe as his first baseman.

Mauer is out of the lineup Thursday against the White Sox, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports
EDGE Analysis
With Byung-ho Park also getting a day off, Trevor Plouffe will start at first base while Robbie Grossman serves as DH. Mauer started each of the past 11 games, with his batting average dropping from .285 to .264 during that span.

Mauer is out of the lineup Thursday against the Yankees, Cold Omaha's Brandon Warne reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mauer has a .163 average in 43 at-bats against Thursday's starter CC Sabathia, so it appears the Twins will be taking that into account by giving him the day off. He has eight hits in his last six games, and appears to be back to his high average (.285) and high OBP (.386) ways. Trevor Plouffe will start at DH and Byung-ho Park will start at first base Thursday.
