Kelly (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kelly left Tuesday's start with a right shoulder impingement after throwing just 23 pitches. The Red Sox have recalled a pair of relievers, Noe Ramirez and William Cuevas, in order to help eat up innings for the next few days. Boston will likely call up one of its more major league-ready starters, such as Henry Owens, later in the week to take Kelly's spot in the rotation. As for Kelly, he still figures to undergo a battery of tests on his shoulder before a more concrete timetable for a return is able to be established.

Kelly (shoulder) will land on the 15-day DL after Tuesday's game, the Boston Herald's Evan Drellich reports.
EDGE Analysis
He left Tuesday's start after 23 pitches with a right shoulder impingement. Manager John Farrell said he expects Kelly to have a full set of tests on his shoulder, and that the Red Sox may make an additional roster move after the long night for the bullpen Tuesday. It is unclear how long Kelly will be out, but in mixed leagues without DL spots, it might be time to take a look at what's available on the waiver wire. Speaking of which, Henry Owens figures to be the obvious option to jump into the rotation after last pitching Monday for Triple-A Pawtucket.

Kelly left Tuesday's game in the first inning with a right shoulder impingement, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injury ended Kelly's outing after 23 pitches, and seems like the type of issue that could at least threaten to push him to the DL. Look for the team to elaborate further on Kelly's condition in the coming days. Henry Owens, who last pitched for Triple-A Pawtucket on Monday, would be the obvious candidate to step in for Kelly should he miss Sunday's start.

Kelly left Tuesday's game against the Rays with an apparent injury after facing only four batters, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
It wasn't obvious what was ailing Kelly, but he seemed to stretch his shoulder a bit after striking out Corey Dickerson in the first inning. The trainer came out to see him and Kelly left after a lengthy visit, with Heath Hembree replacing him on the mound. Kelly walked two of the four batters he faced.

Kelly (1-0) put a dozen men on base -- seven hits and five walks -- in five innings Wednesday, but struck out six, limited the Orioles to two runs and earned the win.
EDGE Analysis
With 14 hits and eight walks allowed through his first eight innings, this certainly wasn't the start Kelly wanted to 2016, but the Red Sox have managed to win both of his starts anyway. The 27-year-old righty has been very hittable while showing unimpressive control throughout his career, and it sure doesn't look like Kelly's taken any sort of a step forward this year.

Kelly allowed seven runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four in three-plus innings in Friday night's 8-7 win over Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Kelly was okay through the first three innings, but fell apart in the fourth when his slider became less effective and was falling behind hitters. He blamed his mechanics out of the stretch, according to Providence Journal, while manager John Farrell lamented him losing control of the count. Whatever the root cause, it was another display of Kelly's inconsistency, a discouraging sign after his stellar finish to the 2015 season.

Kelly's 2016 debut will be pushed to Friday with the news that the Red Sox's game against the Indians on Thursday has been postponed, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
The weather in Cleveland became bad enough that the Indians decided to postpone the game despite the fact that there are not many potential makeup dates very soon. This development hurts Kelly a fair amount, as he now has to face the Blue Jays, who he posted a 6.17 ERA against last season, instead of an Indians lineup lacking the same pop.

Kelly has been named the Red Sox third starter, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kelly had been tentatively penciled in as the fourth starter, but will move ahead of Rick Porcello in the pecking order after a spring in which he posted a 2.63 ERA with 22 strikeouts over 24 innings. As long as manager John Ferrell sticks to this plan, Kelly will make his 2016 debut April 7 against Cleveland.

Kelly allowed one run on five hits and a walk while striking out six in seven innings Thursday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Kelly was exceptional Thursday, getting deep into the game on just 75 pitches (49 for strikes). He entered camp as the likely fifth starter and his performance -- 1.35 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 20 innings -- makes him a sure bet to part of the rotation to start the season. He'll probably move up to the fourth spot with Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) sidelined early.

Kelly allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out five Saturday against the Cardinals, the Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kelly threw all four of his pitches for strikes, was able to get back into counts with his off speed stuff, and gained rhythm has the game went along. He's been the best starter in Boston's camp, having permitted two runs on 13 hits and five walks while striking out 12 in 13 innings. The right-hander solidified his spot in the rotation.
