Nelson (3-1) gave up four runs on 10 hits and a walk Wednesday against the Twins, but struck out six over 6.2 innings and came away with his third straight win.
EDGE Analysis
This wasn't Nelson's most inspiring outing, but he did cut down on the walks after issuing four in each of his last two starts. A consistent strikeout-per-inning man in the minors, Nelson hasn't been close to replicating that sort of success in the big leagues, but the 26-year-old is at least a credible lower-end fantasy starter with upside to be much better than that if he can harness his outstanding raw stuff.

Nelson allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and four walks while striking out just one batter over six innings of an 8-4 win against Pittsburgh on Friday night.
EDGE Analysis
It turned out to be a "bend but don't break" outing for Nelson (2-1, 2.79 ERA) who, despite allowing too many baserunners, made just one critical mistake - a pinch hit three-run home run off the bat of Matt Joyce. Luckily, his mates had staked him to a comfortable lead. Nelson is still maturing, so overcoming diversity has to be considered a good sign. He'll take on the Twins at home next time out.

Nelson (1-1) allowed two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out nine over six innings, and earned the win Sunday against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Despite giving up a pair of solo homers, Nelson otherwise held the Astros in check, and the offense gave him just enough run support to earn him the victory. Although his record sits at 1-1, Nelson has only allowed two runs in each of his first two starts of the season. He'll make his next start Friday at the Pirates.

Nelson (0-1) took the loss despite a quality start Tuesday against the Giants, as he allowed two runs on five hits and a walk over 7.1 innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Nelson was super efficient, as he needed just 88 pitches to get 22 outs and threw 59 strikes against 29 balls. Nelson had a problem with walks last year, as he allowed 3.3 per nine innings, and if he can tighten up his control, it would be a huge step towards becoming the top-half-of-the-rotation pitcher the Brewers hope he can be. Nelson walked one batter or fewer in just nine of his 30 starts last year, and only four of those nine went longer than seven innings.

Nelson was scratched from his Friday start due to an illness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Craig Counsell said this wouldn't affect Nelson's spot in the regular season rotation, so expect Nelson back as soon as he is feeling better. Michael Blazek will get the start for Milwaukee instead.

Nelson allowed one earned run over two innings in his second outing of the spring Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Nelson ended last season on the 60-day disabled list after being struck in the head by a line drive, but he did not suffer any lingering issues, and is 100 percent healthy this spring. Nelson has allowed just one earned run in four innings this spring, but he still has some tuning to do, as evidenced by his 1:4 K:BB ratio. He is a lock to open the season in the Brewers' rotation, but it remains to be seen where he will slot it.

Nelson (head) has been placed on the 60-day DL Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Considering the Brewers already ruled him out for the remainder of the season, this move should come as no surprise. Tyler Cravy is set to take the mound in place of Nelson, and he could finish out the rest of the season in the starting rotation if he pitches well Tuesday.

Nelson (head) will be shut down for the remainder of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Nelson was struck in the head by a line drive Thursday which forced the Brewers to skip over his start Tuesday for precautionary reasons. Even though he seems to be fine, the Brewers took it one step further Monday by shutting him down for the rest of 2015 while Tyler Cravy takes over Tuesday, and potentially for every other projected one of Nelson's starts through the end of the season.

Nelson (head) will not make his next start Tuesday against the Cubs, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Even though Nelson escaped with just a bruise after getting hit by a line drive Thursday against the Cardinals, manager Craig Counsell decided to skip his start due to precautionary reasons saying, "It's great to have him back out here. He's doing great. He's chomping at the bit, obviously. He'll be a spectator until Monday. After he sees the doctor on Monday, we'll have a better idea of what's going to happen the rest of the year." The Brewers have yet to announce a starter to replace Nelson, although more details should arise as it gets closer to Tuesday.
