Nelson (6-13) gave up six runs on six hits and two walks over five innings in Wednesday's loss to the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Remember the good old days -- like, say, last month -- when Nelson's numbers still looked solid? Well, he's been doing a good job of putting the lie to his early-season success lately, as Nelson has been tagged for six runs in three of his last four starts and hasn't finished six innings in more than a month. His ERA's up to 4.31, his WHIP's up to an atrocious 1.49, and he's taken the loss in six consecutive starts. The worst part is that his peripherals (like a FIP over 5.00) suggest things could get even worse.

Nelson (6-11) allowed seven runs, six of which were earned, on seven hits and three walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings to take the loss Sunday at Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
After firing three scoreless innings, Nelson was bombed for seven runs between the fourth and fifth innings, leading to his 11th loss of the campaign. Since July 16, he's seen his ERA go from 3.39 to 4.02, and he's now been tagged with a loss in each of his last four starts. In addition, his 1.48 WHIP is the highest he's had in the three years since he's become a regular in the Brewers' rotation.

Nelson (6-10) lasted just four innings while allowing six runs on eight hits and four walks with four strikeouts in Monday's loss at San Diego.
EDGE Analysis
Nelson allowed just one run in the the first four innings, but gave up five more in the fifth without recording a single out. That's 14 runs allowed in just 8.2 innings over the last two starts for the slumping right-hander. It's going to be tough to trust Nelson on the road Sunday against the same Arizona squad that just roughed him up in his previous outing.

Nelson (6-9) was beaten up for eight runs (six earned) on nine hits and a pair of walks over 4.2 innings in Wednesday's loss to Arizona. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Only the whiffs offer a dim silver lining to this tart, the third time in Nelson's last 10 outings that he's given up six earned runs. The 27-year-old righty's been having a nice year on the whole, but with his strikeouts down and his walks up, the writing's been on the wall for regression. He's likely got more coming to him, too, as Nelson's peripherals suggest his ERA ought to be a full run higher than its current 3.71 mark.

Nelson (5-7) gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks over six innings in Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Dodgers. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old right-hander pitched well for the third straight start, but came away with the loss after failing to receive any run support. He didn't give up a homer for the third consecutive appearance, and despite only surrendering three earned runs over his last 16 frames, he's picked up two no-decisions and Saturday's loss over that span. Nelson will once again try for his sixth victory against the Cardinals next Friday.

Nelson (5-6) tossed five frames, allowing just one run on six hits while walking one and striking out two in a no-decision versus the A's on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 6-foot-6 right-hander had a chance to win his first game in nearly a month, but the bullpen immediately lost Nelson's one-run lead when they took over in the sixth. After an impressive first couple of months to his 2016 campaign, Nelson has been far from good in June -- he's 0-3 with a 7.50 ERA in four start this month. However, Tuesday's 105-pitch effort lends optimism that he can get back on track headed to the mid-way point of the season.
