Weaver allowed two runs on three hits over seven innings en route to a no-decision in Game 1 of the ALDS on Thursday against the Royals. He struck out six and walked two in the contest. Weaver gave a strong showing in his first outing of the postseason Thursday, but the Angels failed to push across a run after the fifth inning, leaving the door open for a game-winning home run by Mike Moustakas in the top of the 11th. Weaver will likely look to get back on the mound for Game 4 of the series Monday, but that may be a tall order after the 31-year-old threw 100 pitches in Thursday's contest.

Weaver allowed four runs on nine hits over six innings to take a loss in his final start of the season against the Mariners on Friday. He struck out five and walked two in the contest. Weaver was dealing with an illness earlier this week, which may have followed him to the mound Friday, as he allowed three home runs in the contest. The 31-year-old ends his 2014 campaign tied for the league lead in wins with 18, while sporting a 3.59 ERA in 213.1 innings. He will pitch in Game 1 of the ALDS.

Weaver (illness) will start Friday against the Mariners, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports. Weaver was under the weather earlier in the week but will be fine to toe the rubber Friday opposite Hisahi Iwakuma. The Angels' ace will then be afforded one extra day of rest before starting Game 1 of the ALDS next Thursday.

Weaver (illness) was feeling better Wednesday and is scheduled to start Friday, Alden Gonzalez of the Los Angeles Times reports. Weaver was sent back to the hotel Tuesday to prevent his illness from spreading, but was feeling much better Wednesday. Although he is scheduled to pitch Friday, the team hasn't ruled out pushing the start back a day, though that would likely push his first potential postseason start back as well.

Weaver (illness) was sent back to his hotel prior to Tuesday's game against the A's, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. Weaver did not attend Monday's game and was sent back to his hotel Tuesday, with manager Mike Scioscia presumably not wanting to endanger the health of his other players. It's uncertain whether the illness could jeopardize Weaver's availability for Friday's start, but he should be back at full strength well ahead of Game 1 of the ALDS.

Weaver allowed three runs on five hits in seven innings to grab his 18th win of the season against the Rangers on Saturday. Weaver has looked like the pitcher of old in his last two starts, allowing four runs in 14 innings and striking out an impressive 19 batters over that span. The 31-year-old will have one more start Friday against the Mariners before being relied upon as the ace of The Angels' staff in the postseason.

Weaver's next start has been rescheduled for Saturday against the Rangers, MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez reports. Weaver was scratched from Thursday's start to get a bit of extra rest, as the Angels clinched an AL West title Wednesday, and manager Mike Scioscia was simply rewarding some of his key contributors. Weaver will take the hill Saturday, however, with his next start scheduled for the following Friday. After that, the plan for the Angels' veteran is to start Game 1 of the ALDS.

Weaver has been scratched from his scheduled start Thursday against the Mariners, Pedro Moura of the Orange County Register reports. With the Angels wrapping up the AL West crown Wednesday night, manager Mike Scioscia has decided to reward Weaver, and likely most of his starters, with some extra rest. Lefty Wade LeBlanc, who was expected to start Saturday in place of Matt Shoemaker (oblique), will now toe the rubber Thursday opposite Felix Hernandez. It's uncertain when Weaver will start next, but it will probably be either Sunday or Monday, as he would then be lined up to start Game 1 of the ALDS on Oct. 2.

Weaver allowed three runs on six hits in six innings to pick up a win against the Indians on Monday. He struck out two and walked two in the contest. Weaver blanked the Indians for the first four innings before allowing three runs in his final two frames of work. The effort was enough to allow Weaver to secure his 16th win of the season, which leads the American League. Weaver will take a 3.58 ERA into his next start against the Astros on Saturday.
