Martinez went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a solo home run in the 10-4 win over St. Louis on Friday. This is now six straight games with a hit including three straight multi-hit games. Martinez rediscovering the form that he had last season after an 0-for-19 stretch to start the month.

There are a lot of hard swings when Martinez is at the dish and he's certainly delivering power (.526 slugging) when he connects. But we're watching that K:BB rate, as it's going to come back and bite fantasy owners at some point this season.

Martinez went 1-for-4 Saturday with a solo shot, his fifth home run of the season. He didn't hit his fifth homer of 2014 until mid-June, so he's just a bit ahead of last year's pace. Fantasy owners who bet against a big regression from Martinez are, at least in the early going, being amply rewarded.

Martinez continued to see the ball well at the plate Sunday, going 3-for-5 with a home run and two singles in a win over Cleveland. He delivered three RBI. He has three home runs this season. He's hit in five of the Tigers first six games and has a .643 slugging percentage and .929 OPS in that span. The Tigers are off to their hottest start in 30 years and Martinez is part of that success.

Martinez went 2-for-4 with his second homer and three RBI in Thursday's win over the Twins. He's off to a strong start to the season, with extra-base hits in all three games of the opening series against Minnesota. After unexpectedly breaking out last year, Martinez is going to have to prove that he's for real this season. So far, so good.
