Paxton (finger) is likely to start Sunday's game against the Rockies, 710 ESPN's Shannon Drayer reports.
EDGE Analysis
A blister and a partially torn fingernail sidelined Paxton amid his rehab with Triple-A Tacoma, but it looks like he should still make it back for a few turns in the Mariners' rotation down the stretch. Injuries wiped out most of Paxton's 2015 season, but he still figures to break camp in 2016 as a member of the big league rotation.

Paxton (finger) has a partially torn fingernail and will be shut down for the weekend, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Luckily, Paxton's injury is unrelated to the tendon injury that has sidelined him for the majority of the season, but it's still yet another setback for the left-hander. He'll likely be re-evaluated after the weekend, at which point, the team will determine when he can make his next rehab appearance.

The Mariners announced that Paxton was removed from Wednesday's rehab start with a blister on his finger, MLB.com's Greg Johns reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's encouraging that Paxton is dealing with a blister and not something more serious, but this still figures to push back his recovery timetable. The Mariners will likely update his status again after he is checked out by the team's medical staff.

Paxton exited Wednesday's rehab start with a trainer after apparently re-injuring his finger, Triple-A Tacoma broadcaster Mike Curto reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paxton pitched into the fourth inning, but was taken out after throwing a pitch and being examined by a team doctor, who was looking at Paxton's finger. Paxton's status moving forward will be uncertain until the Mariners release an update, but this figures to delay his potential return date.

Seattle Mariners pitcher James Paxton will throw a bullpen session on Sunday as he continues to recover from a finger injury, according to the Seattle Times. Paxton has not thrown from the mound since he suffered the injury back on May 28. He is no longer wearing tape on his hand and is reportedly comfortable throwing. “He’s throwing good, pain-free,” Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said. “Continue to progress and get off the mound and see where we are. … We want to make sure there’s no repercussions for not having the support.” Team officials said Paxton's slow recovery was due to the injury being in a place that gets limited blood flow. He is projected to throw 20 to 25 pitches Sunday, and if he does not suffer any setbacks, he could be about a month away from rejoining the big club.
