Odorizzi (11-4) earned the victory Saturday in Cleveland after giving up one run on three hits over 5.1 innings. He struck out two and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi looked solid in his return from the injured list after dealing with a blister, but he was unable to complete the sixth inning after hitting a batter and issuing a walk. The 29-year-old had a 7.85 ERA in his previous four starts before landing on the IL, so it was good to see a return to form after some brief time off. Odorizzi lines up to take the mound next weekend against the Athletics.

Odorizzi (finger) was activated ahead of Saturday's start against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
A blister resulted in there being 10 days in between starts for Odorizzi, but he hardly missed any meaningful time due to the All-Star break.

The Twins plan to activate Odorizzi (finger) from the 10-day injured list to start Saturday's game against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi developed a blister on his right middle finger in his most recent start July 2 against the Athletics, prompting the Twins to withhold him from his final start of the first half last weekend. The Twins' decision to place him on the IL also prevented Odorizzi from appearing in his first All-Star Game on Tuesday, but the time off has at least allowed the right-hander to overcome the minor issue. Odorizzi shouldn't face a strict cap on his pitch count as he returns to the mound Saturday, though manager Rocco Baldelli has been reluctant to allow the 29-year-old to cover more than six innings in most of his outings this season anyway.

The Twins placed Odorizzi on the 10-day injured list after he sustained a right middle finger blister during his start in Tuesday's 8-6 loss to the Athletics, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi failed to deliver a quality start for the fourth straight outing Tuesday, ceding six runs (five earned) on four hits and three walks over three innings while striking out two. While Park notes that Odorizzi could pitch through the blister if needed, the Twins wanted to get ahead of the matter and give him extra time to heal up ahead of the second half. Odorizzi thus appears to be in line for a minimum stay on the IL or close to it, though the injury will prevent him from starting Sunday's game against Texas and appearing in his first All-Star Game next week. Zack Littell was called up from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move to provide the bullpen with an extra arm, but the Twins haven't announced a replacement in the rotation for Odorizzi.

Odorizzi was pulled from Tuesday's game versus the Athletics with a right middle finger blister, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi was visited by the athletic trainer after giving up a grand slam during the fourth inning Tuesday and exited the game after a couple more pitches. The severity of the issue is not yet known, but the Twins could play it safe and wait until after the All-Star break to give the 29-year-old his next start.

Odorizzi was removed from Tuesday's game at Oakland with an apparent finger issue, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi was visited by manager Rocco Baldelli and the athletic trainer during the fourth inning and they appeared to be examining one of his fingers. The 29-year-old gave up six runs (five earned) across three innings prior to leaving the game. The specifics of the issue remain unclear, but if there is any concern at all the team could push his next start -- currently scheduled for Sunday -- to after the All-Star break.

Odorizzi did not factor into the decision during Wednesday's win over the Rays, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven over 5.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi had no problem finding the strike zone against his former club, but he did lose command earlier than expected in the sixth inning. A hard-hit groundout, a home run and a walk chased Odorizzi off the mound after he threw 91 pitches. Overall, two homers accounted for all three of his runs allowed. With 10 wins on the season, the 29-year-old remains tied for the AL lead with Justin Verlander and Lucas Giolito. Odorizzi will take a 2.73 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 94:27 K:BB into a showdown Tuesday with Oakland.

Odorizzi (10-2) earned the victory Saturday against the Royals by surrendering four runs on seven hits over six innings. He struck out seven and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi gave up more than three runs for only the second time this season, but the Minnesota offense rallied to provide him with his third straight win. The 29-year-old has a 2.24 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 85:24 K:BB in 14 starts this season, and he lines up to pitch again versus the Royals on Thursday.

Odorizzi (9-2) gave up one run on five hits and one walk while striking out eight through six innings to get the win against the TIgers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi showed flashes of brilliance as he forced 14 swinging strikes and worked his way out of early trouble to pick up another win. He now has three consecutive wins and has only allowed four runs in his last 47.2 innings. The 29-year-old has a 9-2 record with a 1.92 ERA and 10 K/9 through 13 starts this season. Odorizzi will look for another quality start in his next start Saturday against the Royals.

Odorizzi is scheduled to start Sunday against the Tigers, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
It remains to be seen who will start for the Twins on Friday, but Kyle Gibson and Jake Odorizzi will finish out the series for Minnesota. Odorizzi last took the mound Sunday against the Rays, so he will be pitching on six days of rest when he gets the ball for Sunday's series finale in Detroit. Over his last five starts, the righty is 4-0 with a shiny 0.94 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 32:6 K:BB in 28.2 frames.
