Irvin (8-11) took the loss against the Cubs on Friday, allowing seven runs on five hits and four walks with two strikeouts over 3.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Irvin was tagged for five runs in the first inning and has now allowed multiple homers in four of his past six starts. The 28-year-old is winless over his last seven outings, a stretch that includes five games of at least four earned runs and no quality starts. He'll carry a 5.71 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 104:57 K:BB across 157.2 innings into a road matchup with the Marlins next week.

Irvin (8-10) took the loss Saturday as the Nationals fell 4-1 to the Rays, giving up four runs on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander handled most of Tampa Bay's lineup without issue, but Josh Lowe launched homers off Irvin in the first and fourth innings to account for all the damage off him. Irvin will be happy to put August behind him -- over six starts he went 0-5 with an 8.78 ERA, 1.95 WHIP, 16:12 K:BB and 2.6 HR/9 in 27.2 innings. He'll try to turn things around in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend against the Cubs.

Irvin (8-9) took the loss against the Phillies on Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts over 2.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Irvin struggled with his command, landing just 39 of 69 pitches for strikes and generating six whiffs while failing to escape the third inning in his shortest outing of the year. The rough night continued a miserable August for the 28-year-old, who's gone 0-4 with a 9.55 ERA over five starts. He now sports a 5.40 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 99:52 K:BB across 148.1 innings and will look to rebound in a home matchup with Tampa Bay next weekend.

Irvin (8-8) took the loss Tuesday against the Mets, allowing six runs on eight hits and three walks across six innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Irvin was hit hard by the Mets, yielding four extra-base hits, including a two-run home run to Mark Vientos and a solo home run to Brett Baty. Irvin has now surrendered a total of seven long balls in his last five starts. He has performed especially poorly in his last four outings, tallying a 9.31 ERA and 2.07 WHIP across 19.1 innings. His next start is tentatively scheduled for Sunday in Philadelphia.

Irvin didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 8-7 win over the Royals, surrendering six runs on seven hits and four walks over four innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The Nationals staked Irvin to a 5-0 lead before he even took the mound for the bottom of the first inning, but the right-hander did his best to squander it, eventually getting the hook after 83 pitches (46 strikes). It's the third time in five starts since the All-Star break that Irvin has been tagged for at least five runs, a stretch in which he's stumbled to a 7.88 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 11:9 K:BB over 24 innings. The rebuilding Nationals don't have any obvious candidates to replace him in the rotation, however. Irvin is scheduled to make his next trip to the mound at home early next week against the Mets.

Irvin (8-7) allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits and struck out three without walking a batter over 5.1 innings, taking the loss Friday versus the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Irvin allowed two of those runs in the first inning, and he was done for the game after Casey Schmitt's two-run home run in the sixth. Irvin has allowed at least four runs in five of his last eight starts, and he's given up 10 homers in that span. For the season, the right-hander has a mediocre 4.90 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 91:43 K:BB through 136 innings over 24 starts. He's projected to make his next start on the road versus the Royals.

Irvin (8-6) took the loss against the Brewers on Saturday, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two across four innings.
EDGE Analysis
Irvin put the Nationals on the back foot right out of the gate after yielding three runs in the first inning, before giving up a run in each of the next two frames. He has given up five runs in two of his last three starts and has just five strikeouts over that span, which has Irvin at a 4.89 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 88:43 K:BB across 130.2 innings this season. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, tentatively slated for next weekend on the road against the Giants.

Irvin (8-5) picked up the win Sunday against Minnesota, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks across seven innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Irvin hadn't pitched into the seventh inning in his previous 10 starts, and Sunday's outing tied his fewest runs allowed during that stretch. Irvin hadn't had a start without a walk since June 21. In 126.2 innings this season, Irvin has a 4.69 ERA and an 86-41 K:BB. He'll look to keep rolling next weekend against Milwaukee.

Irvin settled for the no-decision after throwing 3.2 innings, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks while striking out one, during Monday's 10-8 win over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Irvin worked a solid first three innings before things unraveled for him in the fourth inning, allowing five runs when it was all said and done. The Nationals led 7-0 entering the inning, so the frame ended with the lead still intact, but the right-hander didn't quite make it long enough to qualify for the victory. The last five starts haven't been too great for the 28-year-old; he's allowed 24 runs and 28 hits in 25 innings pitched. He's scheduled to make his next start on the road at Minnesota.

Irvin (7-5) took the loss Sunday against Milwaukee, allowing three unearned runs on four hits and one walk across five innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Irvin got no run support in the loss, and all three runs the Brewers scored while he was on the mound came after a two-out error by Brady House. Sunday's outing snapped a streak of seven consecutive starts yielding a home run. Irvin had also walked at least three batters in each of his last three appearances. The 28-year-old owns a 4.58 ERA and an 83:38 K:BB across 116 innings heading into the All-Star break.
