Arrieta (6-4) did not factor into the decision in Sunday's win over the Rockies. He pitched 4.1 innings and allowed four earned runs on five hits and three walks. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
After back-to-back quality starts, Arrieta was much less effective in this one. His ERA is up to 4.68 on the season, but his 4.10 FIP and career-best 9.74 K/9 suggest that he should be a bit better than he showed on Sunday, though a return to his 2014 and 2015 form is probably out of the question. He'll face the Pirates on Saturday in his next start, which should be an easier matchup.

Arrieta (6-4) gave up two runs on two hits and three walks over six innings against the Marlins on Tuesday. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a tough year for Arrieta and those fantasy owners who paid an ace's price to acquire him, but the peripherals paint a far rosier picture than his current 4.46 ERA does. After all, his FIP is nearly a full point lower at 3.57, and Arrieta's sitting on a career-best 10.0 K/9 as well as a career-worst 66.6 percent strand rate. No, he's not the superstar that he was over 2014 and 2015, but Arrieta remains a credible fantasy starter in essentially any format.

Arrieta (5-4) allowed only one run on five hits and two walks over six innings while striking out seven but came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
It was just Arrieta's fifth quality start in 11 trips to the mound as he's been hit hard when he does get hit, but the 31-year-old still has a very impressive 71:17 K:BB through 62.2 innings. He'll try to stay in a groove in his next start Tuesday at home against the Marlins.

Arrieta (5-4) struck out nine but gave up four earned runs on five hits and a walk over six innings in Friday's 4-0 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander was outdueled by the stellar Alex Wood but turned in a strong outing in his own right, despite sprinkling in a few mistakes and getting no run support. Arrieta notched 15 swinging strikes on the night over his 95 pitches and notched his second-highest strikeout total of the season. His problems were primarily with the long ball, as he yielded a 413-foot solo shot to center in the third to Chase Utley and a 426-foot blast to Adrian Gonzalez with Corey Seager aboard in the sixth. Arrieta will look to bounce back with a win against the Padres at Petco Park next Wednesday.

Arrieta (5-3) allowed an unearned run on five hits while walking one and striking out six over six innings in Sunday's 13-6 win over the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Arrieta's efficient performance Sunday snapped a two-start losing streak for him and lowered his ERA to 4.80 on the season. He had been struggling in the first inning of his starts with an 11.25 ERA, but he held Milwaukee off the board early despite a leadoff double by Jonathan Villar. The former Cy Young winner should see better results moving forward, as he's been hurt by a 14.3 HR/FB and .345 BABIP, which is reflected in his 3.75 xFIP.

Arrieta, whose Saturday start was postponed, will start Sunday against the Brewers, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
He will likely still face Chase Anderson, who was scheduled to start Saturday for the Brewers. Arrieta's owners will get him on an extra day of rest thanks to Saturday's rain out.

Arrieta (4-3) lasted six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits (two home runs) and a walk while striking out five in Sunday's loss to St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
The division rival was all over the right-hander Sunday afternoon. Arrieta attracted a measly six swinging strikes while watching his ERA balloon to a season-high 5.44. Since opening the campaign with two fine performances, Arrieta has logged just one quality start over his last six games. He'll look to get back on track in his next start Saturday against the Brewers.

Arrieta (4-2) allowed nine runs (five earned) on nine hits and three walks across 3.2 innings in Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the Rockies. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Arrieta fell apart after two scoreless innings, allowing six runs in the third on six hits, a walk and an error before his removal with two outs in the fourth as three more men crossed the plate. He threw plenty of strikes and allowed just two extra-base hits, but he was unable to put hitters away in deep counts and paid the price as his pitch count elevated. Arrieta saw his ERA bloat to 5.35 and has allowed fewer than three runs just once through seven starts in 2017. It's still early, but the right-hander doesn't look like the pitcher he was last year and will look to turn it around Sunday against the Cardinals.
