The Mets' rotation adjustments have not yet been announced, but it's safe to assume that deGrom will pitch Tuesday, bumping Jason Vargas back to pitch one half of Wednesday's doubleheader. DeGrom should be able to keep his two-start week this week, with the second start coming Sunday against the Red Sox rather than Saturday, but the cancellation will most likely cost him one start over the rest of the season, as a typical rest schedule will now result in him being on short rest for the final game of the year.

The Mets don't want to risk starting deGrom as a steady rain was falling at Citi Field, so he won't be taking the mound Sunday. Corey Oswalt will start in his place for the series finale, and there has been no official announcement of when deGrom will make his next start, though Monday against the Marlins should certainly be a possibility.

The right-hander is holding opponents to a .208 batting average and ranks fourth in the majors with 248 strikeouts. If only the Mets' offense could score more runs for him (3.7 RS/9 this year) he'd likely have a win total to match the rest of his numbers. His next start will be a matchup with the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

deGrom (8-8) tossed six innings Thursday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and four walks in the 3-1 loss to San Francisco. He struck out 10 and took the loss.

EDGE Analysis

After breaking his bad-luck streak and winning three straight starts, deGrom fell victim to another tough-luck loss Thursday. He wasn't his usual dominant self, but the only earned run he allowed came from a Madison Bumgarner double. The 30-year-old still owns an incredible 1.71 ERA and 214:40 K:BB. deGrom will take the mound next Tuesday against the Cubs in Chicago.

DeGrom (8-7) allowed one run (zero earned) on seven hits while striking out nine over nine innings as he secured the victory Saturday against Philadelphia.

EDGE Analysis

DeGrom turned in a dominant outing, as the Phillies managed to plate just one unearned run in the seventh inning. He was extremely efficient in his third complete game of his career, tossing 78 of 108 total pitches for strikes. The 30-year-old ace has notched three straight victories, and he'll head into his next outing with a stellar 1.71 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with a 204:36 K:BB through 168 innings.

DeGrom (7-7) allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out 12 over 6.2 innings as he picked up the win Monday against the Yankees.

EDGE Analysis

DeGrom surrendered a pair of runs in the third inning which tied the game 2-2, but he'd finally get some run support, as he left the contest with a four-run lead. DeGrom continues to dominate in 2018, as he's allowed just four earned runs over his previous three outings (20.2 frames) while racking up 31 punchouts. The 30-year-old sports a 1.81 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with an eye-popping 195:36 K:BB through 159 innings this season.

DeGrom (6-7) allowed four hits and one walk while striking out 10 over six scoreless innings in a win over the Reds on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

The right-hander finally got some support from his offense and bullpen and landed in the win column for the first time in more than seven weeks. DeGrom being just 6-7 on the year speaks more to the futility of the pitcher win than anything else -- he has a strong case for the Cy Young Award, having posted the lowest ERA among qualified starters and the second-best K-BB rate in the National League to this point in the season. He lines up for two starts next week (@NYY, @PHI).

DeGrom (5-7) was saddled with the loss Friday as the Mets fell 2-1 to the Braves, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk over eight innings while striking out nine.

EDGE Analysis

It's become almost comical how little support the Mets have been able to provide deGrom in 2018. His numbers against the rest of the NL East sum up the club's lost season nicely: in 12 starts he has a 1.82 ERA and 88:18 K:BB in 74.1 innings... and a 1-3 record to show for that brilliance. DeGrom will look for his first win since June 18, or at least his 15th straight quality start, in his next outing Wednesday at home against the Reds.

EDGE Analysis

Trevor Williams blanked the Mets, so deGrom now has one win (on June 18) since May 18, which is a shocking reality, given that he has a 1.82 ERA in 138.1 innings this season. He will look to snap this bleak streak in his next outing at home against the Braves on Friday.
