Kennedy struck out only one batter while allowing four runs on six hits over 6.1 innings Wednesday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
He was long gone by the time the Yankees won in 13 innings, ending the veteran's three-start winning streak. He also ended his streak of allowing two or fewer runs at six games. That's mostly because Kennedy wasn't fooling the Yankee bats at all; rather, he was right around the plate, generating tons of contact and earning every run he allowed. A strong strikeout rate has Kennedy's ERA at a still-acceptable 3.66, but his sky-high strand rate and fortune-favored BABIP suggest regression will end up pulling him toward or past the 4.00 mark.

Kennedy (9-9) struck out eight and gave up two earned runs on nine hits and two walks over 5.1 innings in Friday's 6-3 victory over the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran righty continued to miss plenty of bats Friday, notching at least eight whiffs for the sixth time over his last 11 starts. Kennedy has put together an outstanding August overall, surrendering only four earned runs over 32.1 innings, including three starts where he didn't give up any homers, long an Achilles heel for him. He's now rattled off three consecutive victories as well, evening his season record for the first time since June 26. He'll look to get over .500 for the first time since May 30 when he takes on the Yankees next Wednesday.

Kennedy (7-9) allowed just one run on five hits, walking one and striking out five over 6.2 innings in Monday's 3-1 win at Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy has gotten hot over his last four starts, allowing just three earned runs in 26 innings. The fact that this was his first victory in that stretch speaks volumes about the hardships that come with pitching for a team with a bottom-five offense. Saturday's matchup with a Twins squad that has the worst record in the American League offers a golden opportunity for Kennedy to earn consecutive wins after not getting a single victory since Jun. 26.

Kennedy held the White Sox to one run over 6.1 innings Wednesday, allowing six hits and two walks while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
He didn't receive a decision in what turned out to be a 14-inning win for the Royals. Since allowing 11 runs in the span of two starts in late July, Kennedy's righted the ship with three consecutive outings of one or zero runs, pushing his ERA back under the 4.00 mark. This was, however, his worst strikeout total since June 21, as Kennedy has typically helped fantasy owners in whiffs this year.

Kennedy (6-9) was nearly unhittable over six innings in a no-decision Thursday against the Rays. He allowed one hit and four walks while striking out nine.
EDGE Analysis
The four walks were more than Kennedy had allowed in any of his previous 11 starts, but even that couldn't take away from his first one-hit performance since 2011. More notable for his current owners, the right-hander has now gone three straight starts without allowing a home run after serving them up at a high rate through the first half of the season. The 31-year-old has allowed just one run on seven hits while striking out 15 over his last two outings (13 innings). Unfortunately he continued to be a victim of low run support, and Kennedy remains winless in his last six starts. He'll look to keep throwing the ball well when he toes the rubber Wednesday versus a sputtering White Sox lineup.

Kennedy (6-9) allowed one run over seven innings in a no-decision Friday versus the Rangers. He didn't issue a walk while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy can't buy a win this month, as he finishes July with an 0-3 record despite a few solid outings. Friday marked just the fourth time this year (21 starts) Kennedy completed seven innings, and his first walk-free outing since last season. Over his last three campaigns, the right-hander owns a combined 3.48 ERA in August, making the upcoming month Kennedy's best in recent years. He'll look to continue that trend when he travels to Tampa Bay for his next start Thursday.

Kennedy (6-9) allowed four runs on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts over five innings in a loss Monday against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy didn't allow a home run for the first time since May 30, but it didn't matter. He didn't have his control and was constantly pitching from behind (12 first-pitch strikes to 25 hitters). His 26 home runs allowed are still the most in the major leagues, two clear of both Cleveland's Josh Tomlin and Toronto's R.A. Dickey, and for that reason, it remains next to impossible to trust him in any given start.

Kennedy (6-8) allowed seven runs on six hits, struck out eight and walked one over 4.1 innings in a loss to Indians on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
It was feast or famine for Kennedy on Wednesday. Eight of the 13 men he retire were via the strikeout, but he also yielded four homers. Kennedy has now allowed 15 bombs in the last 50 innings. Even before Wednesday's start, the right-hander had the highest HR/9 rate in the league. Kennedy hopes to put an end to all the long balls in his next start against the Angels on Tuesday.

Kennedy (6-7) allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out three over 5.1 innings, but received no decision Friday at the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy gave up a lead-off homer to Ian Kinsler, but then blanked the Tigers until his departure after reaching the 100-pitch mark with one out in the sixth inning. Although he left the game with a 1-0 lead, the Royals' offense got him off the hook for a potential loss by scoring a pair of runs in the sixth inning. He's now held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in three of his last four starts, and his ERA is at 3.86 on the year. He'll make his next start Wednesday against the Indians.

Kennedy (6-7) allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out ten over six innings, but earned no decision Wednesday at the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy gave up single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, but while he was busy striking out 10 hitters, his pitch count crept over 100, forcing him from the contest. After struggling over his first three starts in June, he's now allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his last three outings to lower his ERA to 3.97 on the year. His next start will be after the All-Star break.
