Kennedy (shoulder) will start Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Royals skipped Kennedy the last time through the rotation to combat shoulder fatigue, but he will step back in Tuesday, pushing Sam Gaviglio to Sunday. Kennedy's strikeout and walk rates have both gone in the wrong direction this season -- his 5.67 FIP is exactly one full run higher than his mark from a year ago. He has a negative fWAR through 27 starts.

Kennedy is dealing with shoulder fatigue and won't start Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eric Skoglund is expected to start Wednesday in Kennedy's place. Kennedy struggled in his last start, as he pitched just three innings and allowed three runs on four hits and three walks. Although Kennedy is battling shoulder fatigue, the Royals expect that skipping his current turn in the rotation should give enough time to sort out the issue, so he should be available moving forward. After throwing 138.2 innings over 27 games this season, Kennedy owns a 5.45 ERA and 1.35 WHIP.

Kennedy (4-11) lasted just three innings and allowed three runs on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts to take the loss Friday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Confidence in Kennedy seems to be running thin in Kansas City. This marks the third time in his past five starts that Kennedy has failed to go deeper than three innings, and he hasn't completed the sixth inning since June 28 against Detroit. Expect Kennedy's leash to be short for the rest of the season. His ERA is up to a bloated 5.45.

Kennedy allowed four runs -- just two earned -- on five hits and a walk while striking out a single batter through 5.2 innings during Sunday's win over Minnesota. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old righty posted a 9.57 ERA and 2.01 WHIP through six August starts, so while this was a better outing, it definitely wasn't a standout fantasy showing, either. It's been a discouraging stretch because Kennedy had pitched well for spurts earlier this year. He's still a potential option in the right matchups, but his current form definitely makes him a risky start. Kennedy lines up to face the Twins at Kauffman Stadium next.

Kennedy (4-10) lasted just 2.2 innings in a loss Monday to the Rays as he allowed seven runs on six hits and two walks with just one strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy now has just one quality start in his last six appearances and has failed to finish the third inning twice in his last three outings. His ERA is now up to 5.47 as he has been touched up for an absurd eight home runs in his last four outings. If the Royals can think of another option, Kennedy's time in the rotation could be limited.

Kennedy allowed three runs on seven hits with three walks and six strikeouts over 4.2 innings in Wednesday's no-decision against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy surrendered solo homers to Nolan Arenado and Charlie Blackmon along with a Gerardo Parra sac fly. His line could have been much uglier, but reliever Ryan Buchter was able to get the final out in the fifth inning after replacing Kennedy with the bases loaded. The veteran starter has failed to complete the fifth inning in four of his past seven starts while surrendering at least three earned runs six times over that span. Don't expect much from him Monday against the Rays.

Kennedy (4-9) allowed five runs on six hits and two walks with a strikeout and lasted just 2.2 innings in taking the loss Friday against Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy has now given up 14 runs on five homers over his last three starts. He has never really found a groove this year, and this latest cold streak brings his ERA back up above 5.00, a mark he hasn't breached in a full season since his rookie season with the Yankees when he recorded an 8.17 ERA over 39.2 innings. At this point, it's easy to wonder just how much the 32-year-old has left in the tank.

Kennedy (4-8) gave up three runs, including two solo home runs, with seven strikeouts while pitching 6.1 innings during Friday's win against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
After giving up seven runs to St. Louis in his most recent outing, Kennedy was able to bounce back against one of baseball's worst scoring offenses. Kennedy was also able to capitalize on the young offense of the White Sox, striking out seven or more batters for only the fourth time this season.

Kennedy (4-8) allowed seven runs -- six earned -- on six hits and four walks while striking out five batters through six innings during Monday's loss to St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran had settled into a solid groove since mid-June and allowed three runs or fewer in six of his previous nine starts for a 3.71 ERA. This was a rough outing, though, and Kennedy now sports an underwhelming 4.83 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 7.7 K/9 for the campaign. It's probably best to utilize him in favorable matchups only for the immediate future. Kennedy lines up to make his next start against the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Due to Saturday's rainout, Kennedy will have his next start pushed back to Monday against St. Louis, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy was in line to toe the rubber for Sunday's series finale against Seattle, but plans changed after rain washed out Saturday's game. Danny Duffy will take Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader, while the Royals will recall Jake Junis to fight the late contest. Kennedy loses out on a two-start week with this adjustment, yet at the same time he lines up for two games next week.
