The Royals placed Kennedy on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday with a left oblique strain, Rustin Dodd of The Athletic Kansas City reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy apparently sustained the injury during last Friday's start against the Mariners, and the Royals will have to look elsewhere for Wednesday's starting pitcher. The severity of the injury is unclear at this point and the 33-year-old will be eligible to come off the disabled list July 10, but oblique injuries can be difficult to shake. Trevor Oaks could be recalled from Triple-A Omaha to fill in for Kennedy, but the Royals have yet to announce a corresponding move.

Kennedy threw eight scoreless innings and struck out five in a no-decision against the Reds on Tuesday, allowing three hits and three walks.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy shut down the Reds, limiting the offense to no extra-base hits while throwing 68 of 104 pitches for strikes. Unfortunately, the bullpen couldn't hold the one-run lead and Kennedy was saddled with his second consecutive no-decision in a game where he held the opponent to one run or less. Prior to Tuesday's outing Kennedy had gone six straight starts without a quality start, and had seen his ERA get as high as 6.08. Opponents are hitting .289 against the right-hander, and he's sporting a 67:28 K:BB in 73.2 innings. His next start will be a matchup with the Rangers at home.

Kennedy held the Angels to just one run on seven hits and three walks with five strikeouts through five innings but was left with a no-decision Wednesday night.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy was far from sharp, as he needed 99 pitches to get through five innings and had to strand nine batters to get through his night. He did start the sixth inning, but was immediately greeted with a pair of doubles by Ian Kinsler and Zack Cozart before getting the hook. This was Kennedy's best start in some time, as he hadn't allowed one run or fewer since throwing six shutout innings against Detroit on May 4. Kennedy hasn't thrown a quality start since. He'll take a 5.76 ERA into his next start Tuesday against Cincinnati.

Kennedy (1-5) allowed five runs on nine hits and a walk with five strikeouts through 5.2 innings to take the loss Monday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
What seemed like a potential comeback story after Kennedy's first seven starts has crashed and burned in his last three. Kennedy has given up 14 runs over 15.2 innings his last three times out to skyrocket his ERA from 2.92 to 5.30. Tyler O'Neill took him deep, the ninth homer Kennedy has allowed in 10 starts this season -- not coincidentally, five of those nine home runs have come in this three-start backslide. Kennedy's next start will come Saturday in Texas, a tough environment for him to try and resolve a sudden home run problem.

Kennedy allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings in Tuesday's loss to the Rays. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy left in line for his fifth loss, but his offense bailed him out with a couple of late runs. The 33-year-old had a 2.92 ERA at this point last week, but since then he's been tagged for 14 runs on 15 hits -- including four home runs -- in his last two starts. His ERA has risen over two full runs to 4.98 as a result. It's tough to get a read on which version of Kennedy we should expect going forward, but batters are sporting a .336 BABIP against him, which would be the worst mark of his career so it's fair to expect he'll start benefitting from a bit more luck. He'll aim to right the ship in St. Louis on Monday against the Cardinals.

Kennedy tossed six scoreless innings and struck out seven in a no-decision against the Tigers on Friday, allowing six hits and one walk.
EDGE Analysis
This was the fourth time in seven starts that Kennedy has pitched six innings and allowed one run or less. He's brought his ERA down to 2.92 to go along with a 1.38 WHIP. The veteran right-hander is sporting a 35:11 K:BB in 37 innings, and will look to get back in the win column next week in a matchup against the Orioles in Baltimore.

Kennedy conceded two runs on four hits and two walks across five innings in a no-decision Sunday against the White Sox. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy was strong for most of the afternoon, but he struggled a bit in the fourth inning, when he allowed two runs on a walk and a pair of doubles. He escaped the frame and was able to finish out the fifth, but he'd already reached 97 pitches and wasn't brought back out for the sixth. Kennedy had allowed eight runs over eight innings across his two previous starts, so this was a nice bounce-back effort, albeit an average one. He'll take a 3.48 ERA into Friday's scheduled start against the Tigers.

Kennedy (foot) will toe the rubber Sunday against the White Sox, 610 Sports Kansas City reports.
EDGE Analysis
As anticipated, the right foot contusion Kennedy sustained in his previous start Tuesday against the Brewers didn't prevent him from missing a turn through the rotation, as he'll take the hill Sunday on his normal four days' rest. After opening the season with three consecutive quality starts, Kennedy has fallen back to earth over his past two outings, surrendering 10 runs (eight earned) on 14 hits and four walks over eight innings.

Kennedy (foot) will be ready to take the hill for his next start, which will likely come Sunday against the White Sox, Rustin Dodd of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy was forced to exit after just three inning of work against the Brewers on Tuesday, partially due to a rough day on the mound and also because he was struck by a Ryan Braun line drive on his right foot. The injury was deemed a minor contusion and there doesn't appear to be any concern that the right-hander will be unable to go this weekend.

Kennedy was diagnosed with a foot bruise after being hit in the right foot by a line drive during Friday's game against the Brewers, Maria Torres of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The line drive off the bat of Ryan Braun was hit at 106 mph, and although Kennedy was able to finish the inning he allowed a three-run home run to Travis Shaw before exiting the game. The 33-year-old should be considered day-to-day for now, but he seems likely to be available for Sunday's expected start against the White Sox considering the X-rays came back negative.
