Anderson will likely make his big-league debut in the next couple of weeks, Gabriel Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. "He's throwing real well," manager Brian Snitker said Friday. "He had another good outing yesterday. I came into this whole year thinking we'd see Ian Anderson at some point this year. I thought that in February and March before we broke this thing down. I think there's still a good chance we're going to see him."
EDGE Analysis
Atlanta's rotation has been gutted by injuries and pitchers getting jettisoned due to poor performances, and both Kyle Wright and Bryse Wilson were recently sent back to the team's alternate training site after failing to secure a regular spot. Anderson could be the next man up, but with scheduled off days coming Monday and Thursday, the team doesn't need a fifth starter at the moment. The 22-year-old's next chance to slot into the existing rotation would come Sept. 1 in Boston, but Anderson could also bump aside one of the long relievers holding down the fort before then.

Anderson will be a part of the Braves' 60-man roster, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson was promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett last season after a solid run with Double-A Mississippi, but he amassed a 6.57 ERA and 1.69 WHIP over five starts with the Triple-A club. He was able to turn things around in major-league spring training this season, posting a 1.59 ERA and 6:2 K:BB over 5.2 innings before play was suspended. If the 22-year-old can improve his command as part of the 60-man roster, it wouldn't be out of the question to see him make his major-league debut at some point in 2020.

Anderson struck out two over three perfect innings in Tuesday's split-squad game against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Facing what could well be Baltimore's Opening Day lineup, the 21-year-old right-hander was dominant in his first Grapefruit League start, fanning Chris Davis and Dwight Smith along the way. Anderson has a 1.59 ERA and 6:2 K:BB through 5.2 innings this spring, and while he's set to begin the season at Triple-A Gwinnett, a fast start could put Atlanta's No. 5 fantasy prospect in the team's rotation plans over the summer.

Anderson will join the Braves' big-league camp this spring.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson has only made five starts at the Triple-A level and may therefore not push for an Opening Day rotation spot, but his debut will likely come at some point his year. He struggled to a 6.57 ERA in five starts for Triple-A Gwinnett in 2019, yet he recorded a strong 2.68 ERA in 21 starts for Double-A Mississippi earlier in the year.

The Braves promoted Anderson from Double-A Mississippi to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Braves are teeming with impressive young arms in the upper levels of their minor-league system, and Anderson may be the most impressive of the lot. He experienced little resistance from Southern League competition during his time with Mississippi, logging a 2.68 ERA and striking out 147 across 111 innings. The 21-year-old will face a much stiffer test while making the jump to Triple-A, where offensive production has been on the rise this season thanks in part the incorporation of the same baseball being used in the big leagues. If Anderson acquits himself well in the heightened offensive environment, he could earn a callup to Atlanta in September, though a bullpen role would likely await him in that scenario.

Anderson gave up two runs on six hits and a walk over six innings while striking out nine for Double-A Mississippi on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
It's the seventh time in his last 12 outings Anderson has fanned at least nine batters. The 21-year-old has a 2.07 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and eye-popping 95:19 K:BB over 69.2 innings during that stretch, and Atlanta's No. 3 fantasy prospect seems more than ready for a promotion to Triple-A.

Anderson walked two batters and hit another while striking out 14 over seven scoreless, no-hit innings for Double-A Mississippi on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The 14 whiffs were a career high for the 21-year-old, while Mississippi's bullpen was able to complete the no-no after Anderson exited. His 2.94 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 11.9 K/9 through 85.2 innings are all strong, although his 4.5 BB/9 still needs work. Anderson remains on track to start knocking on the door of a big-league rotation spot sometime in 2020.

Anderson gave up one run on five hits and three walks over five innings while striking out nine for Double-A Mississippi on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 21-year-old now leads the Southern League in strikeouts with 86 after fanning at least seven batters in four straight starts and six of his last nine. Anderson's 3.02 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 5.0 BB/9 through 65.2 innings highlight that he's far from a finished product, but Atlanta's No. 4 fantasy prospect is still on pace to potentially make his big-league debut in 2020 if he keeps racking up K's.

Anderson gave up two hits and two walks over six scoreless innings while striking out eight for Double-A Mississippi on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
In his best performance so far this season, Anderson picked up his first win and shaved more than a full run off his ERA. Control has been an issue for the right-hander in the early going, but he's still showing plenty of dominance, posting a 26:15 K:BB through 23 innings with a 3.52 ERA and 1.39 WHIP. Atlanta's No. 4 fantasy prospect only turns 21 on Thursday, and the club has little reason to rush him up the ladder. Expect Anderson to continue honing his craft in the Southern League, potentially getting bumped up to Triple-A Gwinnett in the second half if he starts putting everything together on a consistent basis.

Anderson picked up his first win with Double-A Mississippi on Sunday, allowing three hits and a walk over 6.2 scoreless innings while striking out nine in a 2-0 victory over Biloxi.
EDGE Analysis
The 20-year-old needed a couple of starts to adjust to his new level of competition after a promotion earlier in the month, but Anderson now seems back to his usual dominant ways. While his 132:47 K:BB through 113 innings between High-A and Double-A is impressive, the most noteworthy stat from his 2018 campaign might be that he's only served up two homers -- in fact, dating back to Rookie ball, Anderson's only been taken deep three times in 235 innings during his entire minor-league career. Unless he struggles upon reaching Triple-A next year, he seems on pace to make his debut in the majors some time in 2019.
