Huston Street (calf) is expected to be activated from the disabled list Sunday.
He will make a rehab appearance for High-A Lake Elsinore Friday before rejoining the Padres in Colorado. Street, who hasn't given up a run since June 17, will regain his closer gig, with Luke Gregerson and Dale Thayer shifting back to setup roles.

Huston Street (calf) is expected to go out on a rehab assignment before returning.
The minor league season ends on September 3, so he'll need to start one soon. The Padres are hoping to get Street back at the beginning of next month when rosters expand.

Padres placed RHP Huston Street on the 15-day disabled list with a strained calf.
Street suffered the strain while trying to cover first base on the final out of Friday's victory over the Pirates. It's the type of injury that can take three weeks of recovery time. Look for Dale Thayer or Luke Gregerson to pick up the save chances in his absence.

Huston Street nailed down his 20th save, tossing a perfect ninth inning against the Cubs while striking out one.
Street has now hurled an incredible 20 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings. His ERA is down to a microscopic 0.77. A perfect 20-for-20 on save conversions this year, Street has also produced a 2-0 record, a 45/8 K/BB rate and a 0.54 WHIP. When healthy, he's been amongst fantasy's top stoppers in 2012.

Andy Martino of the New York Daily News reports that the Mets don't think the Padres will trade Huston Street.
This jibes with a report by CBS Sports' Jon Heyman that the Padres are trying to sign both Street and Carlos Quentin to multi-year contracts. Street, who made the All-Star team this month, has a 1.07 ERA and 34/8 K/BB ratio over 25 1/3 innings this season while going a perfect 15-for-15 in save opportunities. His contract includes a $9 million mutual options for 2013 or a $500,000 buyout.

Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports that the Mets feel that Huston Street and Francisco Rodriguez are "too pricey" to trade for.
Heyman says the Brewers aren't willing to eat any of K-Rod's contract, which will pay him roughly $4 million for the rest of the season. Street is owed nearly as much as K-Rod, and the Padres evident aren't interested in picking up any of his salary to move him, either.

Huston Street told Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com that he would "clear the air" with Mets bench coach Bob Geren if he is traded to the club.
Street previously said that Geren, who managed him in Oakland, was the "least favorite person I have ever encountered in sports from age 6 to 27," but he would bury the hatchet if they crossed paths again. "If I were to get traded to the Mets, it would be up to me to handle it and be professional," said Street. "I play hard for my teammates, and he'd be my teammate again." Street, 29, has a 1.13 ERA and 32/8 K/BB ratio over 24 innings this season while going a perfect 13-for-13 in save opportunities. The Mets have also been mentioned in connection with Grant Balfour, Jonathan Broxton, Brett Myers and Francisco Rodriguez in recent weeks.

According to Andy Martino of the New York Daily News, the Mets recently called the Padres to inquire about closer Huston Street.
The Mets are actively searching for bullpen help, so Street is a natural target. It would be an interesting destination for him considering his past relationship with Mets bench coach and former A's manager Bob Geren, but stranger things have happened. The 28-year-old right-hander has a 1.42 ERA, 11 saves and a 24/6 K/BB ratio over 19 innings this season. His contract includes a $9 million mutual option for 2013 with a $500,000 buyout.

Huston Street earned his first victory of the season Tuesday by tossing a scoreless ninth inning against the Giants.
If only it were that easy. Street, activated off the DL earlier in the day, got two outs immediately before loading the bases. He wriggled from the jam and snagged the win when Logan Forsythe homered to lead off the bottom of the ninth, but certainly it wasn't Street's best performance. Rust was to be expected after Street missed a month with a right lat strain. He has his closer's job back and thus needs to be activated in all leagues if he wasn't already.
