Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that the Rockies are expected to shop Huston Street over the offseason. It's not a surprise, as bullpen depth is one of the team's strengths and Street is set to make $7.5 million in 2012 after losing his closer gig this season. Renck writes that the Rockies "remain open-minded" about keeping Rafael Betancourt in the closer role next year, and it sounds like they could do so even if Street is retained. As far as the rest of this season goes, Street might not appear again due to a groin injury that has been bothering him lately and was also an issue earlier this year.

Huston Street took a blown save and a loss after giving up four runs -- two earned -- in one-third of an inning Saturday. They were the first two earned runs Street has allowed in nine appearances since coming off the DL. Although he had been effective previously, the Rockies had him working the eighth tonight, and it looks like manager Jim Tracy will be content to let Rafael Betancourt spend the rest of the season as the closer.

Rockies activated RHP Huston Street from the 15-day disabled list. Street missed a little over two weeks with a mild right triceps strain. He returns to a 4.06 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 49/8 K/BB ratio, and should have no trouble reclaiming Colorado's ninth inning role within a few days.

Street retired all three batters he faced and reported no lingering pain or discomfort in his throwing arm.
