Huston Street earned his ninth save of the year Tuesday as the Padres beat the Orioles 3-2. The Padres were trailing 2-1 heading into the top of the ninth inning but managed a rare two-run rally against Orioles closer Jim Johnson. Street then shut the O's down in the bottom of the ninth. He owns a weak 4.60 ERA and 1.34 WHIP through 15 2/3 innings this season but still carries very good job security.

Huston Street blew his first save of the 2013 season on Saturday night, surrendering a two-out, two-run homer to Rays third baseman Evan Longoria. It's a devastating loss for the Padres, who clawed back from a 6-2 deficit to take a 7-6 lead into the ninth. Street retired the first two hitters he faced before walking Ben Zobrist to set up Longoria's dramatics. With the loss, Street falls to 0-2 on the season with a 4.91 ERA and 1.36 WHIP. But he's still the closer in San Diego.

Huston Street recorded his seventh save despite giving up a three-run homer in the ninth inning Friday against the Diamondbacks. The Padres wanted to get through the ninth with Brad Brach in a 7-3 game tonight, but he was pulled after giving up a hit and a walk to the first two hitters he faced. Street came in and got two outs, but then gave up a homer to Gerardo Parra, making it a 7-6 game. He retired Martin Prado afterwards to record the save. The homer was the fourth he's allowed in 12 innings this season. Last year, he allowed a total of two in 39 innings.

Despite giving up a couple of singles, Huston Street picked up a save in a one-run game against the Giants on Friday. Street isn't missing many bats right now, but he got the strikeout and groundout he needed to escape tonight's jam. Although he has been shaky, he's still managed to go 4-for-4 in save opportunities.

Thanks to a batter's interference call that ended the game, Huston Street notched his third save Wednesday against the Brewers. Street had already allowed a run before Martin Maldonado was called out for having the ball hit him outside of the box. While Street has yet to take a blown save, he's turned in just three scoreless appearances in seven outings.

Huston Street recorded his second save of the season Monday, tossing a scoreless inning in a win over the Dodgers. Street gave up a leadoff single to Jerry Hairston Jr. to start the ninth but then quickly disposed of the next three batters. It was the right-hander's first save chance since April 4, as the Padres picked up just their third win of the season. Street should be a fine fantasy closer this season.

Huston Street took a loss after giving up two homers in the ninth Friday against the Rockies. Street entered a tie game and gave up back-to-back solo homers to Dexter Fowler and Josh Rutledge. He's allowed three homers in three innings this season after giving up a total of two in 39 innings last year. It's probably a fluke, but with the Padres bringing in the fences, he shouldn't have been expected to have such a good home run rate again anyway.

Huston Street has converted his only save chance this season, giving up one run over two appearances. Street gave up a solo homer but nailed down a save on April 4, and his next appearance didn't come until a week later. It's not surprising given that the Padres are off to a 2-7 start, but save opportunities have a way of coming in bunches. Street will make for a fine fantasy closer this season as long as he stays healthy.

Huston Street is unavailable Wednesday due to some soreness in his right biceps. It doesn't seem like a big concern, but the Padres obviously have no reason to push him. Luke Gregerson would likely handle a potential save chance Wednesday.

Huston Street gave up two homers in the ninth to take his first blown save and his first loss Sunday against the Giants. Xavier Nady tied it with a solo homer, and Hunter Pence hit a two-run bomb to give the Giants the lead. Street hadn't allowed a home run in 38 innings this season before giving up the two today.
