Gonzalez tossed 5.1 innings in a no decision Saturday against the Mets, allowing one run on six hits and three walks while striking out six batters.
EDGE Analysis
It was Gonzalez's second straight start in which he allowed just a single run. He now has a 1.59 ERA with 13 strikeouts and four walks in 11.1 innings. The 32-year-old lefty recorded a 2.96 ERA last year in 201 innings, though his 4.24 xFIP indicated that he got rather lucky. Through his first two starts this year, he has a 3.20 xFIP, striking out more batters per inning than he did last season while walking fewer. It's a promising start to the year for Gonzalez, who will next take the hill Thursday at home against the Rockies.

Gonzalez (1-0) held Cincinnati to just one run on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts through six innings to earn the win Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez picked up right where he left off in 2017. He was sharp, with 17 first pitch strikes, and nasty enough to induce 12 whiffs in 91 pitches. Gonzalez had arguably the best season of his career last year, when he posted a sub-3.00 ERA and sub-1.20 WHIP for the first time in five years. Even if he winds up regressing a bit in 2018, Gonzalez should be a reliable source of strikeouts, as he has posted at least an 8.0 K/9 in every season since 2011.

Gonzalez will start the third game of the season for the Nationals on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Thursday's rainout bumps Max Scherzer back a day, but otherwise doesn't affect the Nats' rotation. Gonzalez is coming off his best statistical season since 2012, but his 3.97 FIP and declining fastball velocity in 2017 suggest he'll have a very hard time repeating last year's sub-3.00 ERA.

Gonzalez allowed one run on four hits and a walk over five innings while striking out three in Friday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Other than a fourth-inning solo homer by Jedd Gyorko, the veteran lefty has little difficulty handcuffing a Cards lineup that featured a mix of big-league regulars and top prospects. Gonzalez now has a 6:2 K:BB through 10 spring innings, and he's on track to begin the season as the Nats' No. 3 starter.

Gonzalez allowed two runs on six hits over three innings while striking out one in Sunday's Grapefruit League start against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
It wasn't the sharpest outing, but the veteran lefty is gradually building up his stamina as he gets ready for Opening Day. Gonzalez is coming off his third career 200-inning campaign, and his 2.96 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 2017 were his best marks since 2012, but given that his FIP was more than a full run higher it's unlikely he'll be able to match that performance this season.

Gonzalez will start Game 5 of the NLDS against the Cubs on Thursday, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Dusty Baker will go with Gonzalez over Tanner Roark to start the decisive Game 5. Roark's experience out of the bullpen likely played into the decision, as he's expected to be available in relief Thursday. Gonzalez allowed three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out six batters through five innings in his first start of the postseason against Chicago.

Gonzalez will toe the rubber for Game 2 of the NLDS against the Cubs on Saturday, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Dusty Baker was waiting to see if Max Scherzer (hamstring) was healthy enough to take the mound for Game 2, but it appears as though the club doesn't want to push the right-hander, so Gonzalez will draw the start for the second contest of the series. Under this scenario, Scherzer will most likely take Game 3, and then Baker could choose between Tanner Roark or Stephen Strasburg, on short rest, for Game 4, if it's necessary. If the series goes the full five games and Strasburg takes the mound in Game 4, Gonzalez would be on the mound for the pivotal finale on normal rest. Throughout the course of the 2017 season, the left-hander has posted a 2.96 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 201 innings.

Gonzalez (15-9) allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks across 4.1 innings while taking the loss Sunday against the Pirates. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez was blitzed for five runs on three hits, two walks and a hit batsman in the first inning. He labored all afternoon and escaped trouble on a couple of occasions, but he was pulled after three straight hits plated another run in the fifth. It wasn't an ideal finish to the regular season for Gonzalez, but he will still head into the playoffs with a 2.96 ERA and 188 strikeouts in 201 innings during the 2017 campaign.

Gonzalez (15-8) allowed three runs on five hits and five walks across five innings to take the loss Tuesday against the Phillies. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez struggled to find the zone in this one, throwing just over 50 percent of his pitches for strikes while notching his second highest walk total of the year. He stranded seven runners, but a rally in the third inning produced all three runs on his ledger. Gonzalez was strong in his previous start and will still finish the regular season with an excellent 2.75 ERA as he sets his sights on his postseason assignment.

Gonzalez (15-7) hung on long enough to get the win over the Braves on Wednesday, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk over seven innings while striking out eight.
EDGE Analysis
Both runs scored on solo homers by Freddie Freeman and Kurt Suzuki, and Gonzalez was on the hook for a loss in a 2-1 game when he exited, but the Braves bullpen imploded in the top of the eighth to hand the him the victory. The lefty's 15 wins are his highest total since he won 21 back in 2012, and he'll look to add to that total Tuesday in Philadelphia.
