Gonzalez (7-11) took the loss Friday, allowing one run on seven hits over seven innings while striking out two as the Nationals fell 3-0 to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
It's been feast or famine for the southpaw since the All-Star break. Gonzalez has three starts in which he gave up only one run over seven innings, but his ERA in the other three outings of the second half is a gruesome 13.14. He's also been the victim of some poor run support even when he does pitch well -- in 15 starts since the beginning of June, Gonzalez's record is 1-9. He'll look for a better result when he next takes the mound Wednesday in Philadelphia.

Gonzalez (7-10) allowed eight runs on 10 hits and four walks across 4.2 innings while taking the loss Sunday against the Marlins. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez began the game with a pair of scoreless innings, but his struggles began in the third, when he allowed three runs on two hits and two walks. He struggled through the next inning without giving up another run but was chased from the game with one out in the fifth after four hits and a walk, as the visitors plated five more. This poor effort continued a troublesome recent stretch for the lefty, who's now given up at least five earned runs in four of his last six to inflate his ERA to 4.51. Gonzalez will look to right the ship next weekend against the Mets.

Gonzalez (7-9) took the loss Tuesday, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two over four innings against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez served up a two-run home run to opposing pitcher John Gant in the second inning, and failed to make it beyond the fourth inning for the second time in three starts. The 32-year-old has alternated good and bad starts over the past month, allowing five earned runs on three occasions while allowing just one in the other two. His ERA now sits at a season-high 4.12 heading into Sunday's favorable matchup against the Marlins.

Gonzalez (7-8) tossed seven innings, allowing one run on six hits and one walk while striking out three as he notched the victory Thursday against Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez surrendered his lone run in the first inning on a solo home run by Nick Markakis. Gonzalez exited with a 4-1 lead after tossing 94 pitches. Following a rough start his last time out (five runs over 3.2 innings), Gonzalez managed to turn in a solid appearance, bringing his ERA down to 3.89 through 125 frames this season.

Gonzalez fell to 6-8 on the season after allowing six runs (five) earned in just 3.2 innings Saturday against the Reds. He struck out five while walking two and allowing 10 hits.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez was poor throughout the game, allowing at least a run in every inning in which he threw a pitch. The lefty now has a pair of poor outings sandwiching a quality start in his last three appearances. He hasn't won a game since the month of May. He'll look to get back on track Thursday against the Braves.

Gonzalez had his start against the Reds on Friday postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez is expected to take the mound during one of Saturday's games. This will provide an issue for the Nationals rotation moving forward since the club also has a doubleheader on tap against Atlanta on Monday. As for Gonzalez, he will likely be called upon to pitch Thursday in Atlanta following his start this weekend.

Gonzalez allowed one earned run on three hits and four walks while striking out four Saturday against the Marlins. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez benefited from a matchup against a weak lineup and an advantageous pitching environment to put together his best start since early June. He relied primarily on flyballs as 12 of the 21 outs he recorded came in the air. The downside was that he still battled his control -- he walked four batters and began only 11 of the 27 batters he faced with a strike -- and has now surrendered at least four free passes in five of his past six starts. Since the calendar flipped to June, Gonzalez has allowed 33 earned runs in 50 innings pitched, making it difficult to trust him until he shows improved skills.

Gonzalez will not take the mound against the Braves on Saturday due to inclement weather.
EDGE Analysis
The Nationals announced that further information regarding the date and time of the rescheduled game will be released at a later time. It remains to be seen whether Gonzalez will be pushed back to start Sunday's series finale, as Max Scherzer was scheduled to toe the rubber. Look for an update on Washington's rotational plans to come to light within the coming hours.

Gonzalez (6-6) took the loss Wednesday, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez made one mistake, allowing a two-out, two-run home run to Starling Marte in the third inning but that was all it took as the Washington bats got blanked in the 2-0 defeat. The lefty hasn't been particularly overpowering -- he induced just six swings and misses Wednesday and has a pedestrian 22:20 K:BB over his last 30.1 innings -- but he's allowed three or fewer runs in three straight starts. He's now sporting a 3.72 ERA and 1.46 WHIP, with his next start slated to come after the All-Star break.

Gonzalez pitched five innings Sunday, yielding three runs on four walks and three hits while striking out four in a 4-3 loss to Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez hasn't earned a victory since May, watching his season ERA climb from 2.10 to 3.77 in the process. He posted a hideous 8.44 ERA in June, allowing four or more runs in three of his five starts. The 32-year-old southpaw has walked nine batters across just six innings over his last two outings. Gonzalez will try to get back in the win column Friday against Miami.
