Gonzalez (6-5) allowed six runs on three hits and five walks while recording just three outs en route to a loss Monday against the Rays. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez breezed through the first inning with only a walk on his ledger, but the second inning was a different story. The lefty was chased from the game without recording another out as he allowed six runs on four walks, a wild pitch and a pair of hits, including a grand slam by Kevin Kiermaier. This poor outing continues a recent trend for Gonzalez, who's now allowed 17 earned runs across 14.1 combined innings over his last four starts. He'll look to right the ship this weekend against the Phillies.

Gonzalez (6-3) took the loss Friday, surrendering five runs on nine hits and two walks over six innings while striking out three in a 6-5 loss to the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander threw only 57 of 104 pitches for strikes, and he got touched up for a pair of homers in the third inning. It's the first time this season Gonzalez has served up multiple home runs in a game, but they are becoming more of an issue for him -- after allowing only one in his first eight starts, leading to a 2.22 ERA, he's coughed up five in his last five outings to fuel a 4.06 ERA over that stretch. Gonzalez will look for a better result in his next start Wednesday at home against the Orioles.

Gonzalez lasted just 3.1 innings, surrendering four runs on six hits and four walks, while striking out three Saturday against the Giants. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez was granted a five-run cushion early in the game, but he allowed a three-run homer to Nick Hundley in the third, followed by a run in the fourth prior to being lifted. Despite a rough outing, he's posted a 2.65 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with a 75:32 K:BB through 74.2 innings this season. His next start is slated for Saturday against Toronto.

Gonzalez (6-2) picked up the win Monday against the Orioles, allowing just six hits and two walks across 7.2 scoreless innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez didn't miss many bats in this one -- his three strikeouts were a season low -- but it didn't seem to matter much, as he was still able to record an out in the seventh inning for the first time all year. The 32-year-old now owns an impressive 2.10 ERA and 63:28 K:BB across 11 starts (64.1 innings) this season, and will look to keep things rolling as he faces the Braves on the road in his next start.

Gonzalez (4-2) allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and four walks while striking out five over five innings Tuesday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The game was suspended due to inclement weather in the sixth inning with the score tied at three, so Gonzalez will not factor into the decision when the teams resume play Wednesday. The southpaw wasn't very sharp Tuesday, but he was able to wiggle his way out of multiple jams to hold the Yankees to just three runs despite allowing 10 baserunners over five innings. Gonzalez still maintains a strong 2.36 ERA following the shaky outing.

Gonzalez struck out eight and held the Padres to one run on five hits and three walks over six innings but was stuck with a no-decision Wednesday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez deserved better Wednesday night, as he posted his third quality start of the season and tied a season high in strikeouts. His changeup was dancing, as he threw it 21 times and induced five swinging strikes. That ability to change speeds is critical, as Gonzalez's fastball topped out at 92.0 mph and averaged just 90.3. Gonzalez's average fastball velocity has fallen off by nearly four whole ticks since its peak in 2012. He's not the same power pitcher he used to be, but Gonzalez has evolved a new ability to rely on his off-speed pitches to keep hitters off balance. He'll take a 2.22 ERA into his next start Tuesday against the Yankees.

Gonzalez (3-2) picked up the win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday. He allowed one run on six hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez allowed a hit in six of his seven innings of work but was able to limit the Diamondbacks to just one run on the afternoon. Sunday's effort marked the first time that the southpaw has pitched six-plus innings for the first time since April 1, as he's now averaging just shy of 5.2 innings per start. Despite his relative inability to work deep into games in the early going, Gonzalez currently boasts an elite 2.67 ERA and has proven to be a reliable fantasy starter over the past two seasons following his rough 2016 campaign. He'll take on the Phillies in his upcoming Friday start.

Gonzalez (2-2) allowed three runs on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts over five innings as he took the loss Monday against the Giants
EDGE Analysis
For the fourth straight start, Gonzalez has lasted either 5.0 or 5.1 innings. His control has been shaky all year long, as he walked three batters for the third time in four starts and has pushed his BB/9 all the way up to 4.0. Gonzalez's 29 strikeouts in 26.2 innings are enticing, though. He'll get another chance to tighten things up Sunday against Arizona.

Gonzalez threw 5.1 innings in Tuesday's win over the Mets, allowing two runs on eight hits while recording five strikeouts and two walks.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez didn't allow a run through four, and in the fifth he got tagged for a sacrifice fly by Asdrubal Cabrera and an RBI groundout by Yoenis Cespedes. He was lifted in the sixth at 97 pitches after having given up a couple of singles. Overall, Gonzalez was effective, and in each of his four starts this year he's gone at least five innings and hasn't allowed more than two earned runs. The lefty is allowing a fair number of hits and walks (hence the 1.52 WHIP), but he's so far limiting the run damage. He'll square off with the Giants in San Francisco on his next start.

Gonzalez (1-1) allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits while walking three and striking out seven across five innings to take the loss Thursday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez allowed his first home run of the season and this was also his first start in which he allowed multiple runs. Despite those negatives, the outing was far from a disaster as he allowed only two earned runs and struck out seven. He continues to walk batters at a high rate, meaning he'll often be pitching out of jams, but he showed the ability to perform well even given that last season.
