Giancarlo Stanton finished 3-for-5 with three RBI as the Marlins topped the Reds 8-3 on Saturday night.
Stanton hit a single in the top of the second inning, an RBI double in the top of the fourth and a two-run single in the fifth. It was a coming out party for the Marlins' offense, with Emilio Bonifacio scoring three runs and stealing two bases and Hanley Ramirez going yard for the first time this season. Omar Infante and John Buck also went deep.

Giancarlo Stanton (knee) may return to the Marlins' Grapefruit League lineup Friday against the Nationals.
Stanton hasn't appeared in a Grapefruit League game since March 11, but he has made progress during minor league games this week. The expectation is that he will be ready to go for the season opener next Wednesday against the World Series-champion Cardinals.

Giancarlo Statnon (knee) is scheduled to play the field Tuesday in a minor league game.
Logan Morrison (knee) will do the same. Stanton was cleared to begin a running program last Thursday and has experienced no lingering pain or discomfort in his knee or wrist. He should be fully healthy by Opening Night.

Joe Frisaro of MLB.com thinks Giancarlo Stanton (knee) has a better chance of being ready by Opening Day than Logan Morrison (knee).
Stanton began a light running program on Thursday and could be a DH as early as Monday or Tuesday. "I fast jogged a little bit yesterday," Stanton said. "I'll pick it up today. Got positive feedback, and get this progress for Opening Day going." Stanton has dealt with a few maladies this spring, but it sounds like he should be OK for April 4, barring a setback.

Giancarlo Stanton will be sidelined for at least another week after being diagnosed with inflammation in his left knee.
Stanton had been out with a wrist ailment, but the knee soreness cropped up recently and has pushed back his timetable. Neither malady is considered serious, but he's received just nine at-bats so far this spring and is running out of time to get more. Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen said he'd like all of his regulars to go about 10 days prior to Opening Day, which would be March 24. Stanton said he's "working towards" being ready at that time.

Giancarlo Stanton paid a visit to a doctor Thursday after experiencing knee soreness.
Stanton has been held out of Grapefruit League action since taking a pitch off his left wrist Sunday against the Mets, and now this minor knee ailment will set him back a little further. But the 22-year-old slugger has ample time to get sufficiently tuned up for the start of the regular season. He is an elite fantasy outfielder.

Giancarlo Stanton (wrist) is expected to be held out of the lineup for a couple straight games.
Stanton suffered a contusion when he was hit on the left wrist by a pitch during Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Mets. X-rays were negative, but the Marlins are going to play it as safe as possible with their 22-year-old slugger. Stanton hit 34 home runs in 150 games last season.

Giancarlo Stanton will have an X-ray on his left wrist Sunday.
Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post reports that Marlins trainers don't think Stanton broke his wrist when he was hit by a pitch Sunday, but they obviously won't know for sure until the results of the X-ray is revealed. He will sit out Monday's game, at the very least. For what it's worth, Capozzi notes that Stanton was able to pull his clothes on in the clubhouse, so it doesn't appear that he's in a ton of pain.
