Garrett Richards was rocked for seven runs on eight hits over 4 2/3 innings Monday in a loss against the A's.
He struck out one, walked two and surrendered two homers that accounted for five runs. This clunker is going to be infuriating to hopeful AL-only owners in the playoffs, but Richards will have one last chance to redeem himself on Saturday against the Rangers. He'll enter that start 7-7 with a 4.09 ERA and 1.34 WHIP.

Garrett Richards allowed three runs over 6 2/3 innings Thursday in a defeat of the Blue Jays.
Richards couldn't handle Jose Reyes, but he did a number on the rest of the Blue Jays lineup and that was good enough for a win in a 4-3 game. He's won three straight starts, lowering his ERA from 4.16 to 3.91 in the process.

Garrett Richards hurled five innings of one-run ball against the Rays on Monday.
Richards' control was awful -- he walked a career-high seven batters -- but he only surrendered two hits, one of which was Ben Zobrist's solo home run in the first inning. The right-hander struck out six, and in so doing became the eighth pitched (and second Angel; Bo Belinsky, 1964) to record seven walks and six strikeouts over five frames. None of those pitchers allowed less than two runs. If Richards decides to walk seven more batters on Saturday, logic dictates that the Rangers will be more ruthless in making sure he regret it.

Garrett Richards will start on four days rest when the Angels take on the Rays in Tampa Bay on Wednesday.
Richards wasn't a certainty to even make his next start after leaving Friday's game with a right forearm contusion, but it appears that he's good to go. It's unclear if Jerome Williams, Tuesday's previously scheduled starter, is being completely skipped, or just pushed back in the rotation.

Garrett Richards left Friday's game in the eighth inning with a right forearm contusion.
Richards allowed just four hits and two walks while striking out four over 7 1/3 scoreless innings before exiting. The forearm injury isn't believed to be serious, but the Angels will reevaluate him Saturday before determining whether he'll need to miss his next start.

Garrett Richards took a complete-game loss after allowing two runs in eight innings Monday against the Yankees.
It's Richards' fourth straight fine outing since he entered the rotation. There's no doubt that he'll keep his spot following Jason Vargas' return this week, and he should be a nice play in mixed leagues with the Astros and Mariners next on the schedule.
