Garrett Richards beat the Rangers after allowing three runs in six innings on Saturday. Richards wasn't at his best tonight, which says a lot about how good he's become. He actually struck out a season-high nine, but he also missed a lot and gave up nine hits. He's still allowed just one homer all year, and he's worth playing in all mixed leagues right now.

Garrett Richards pitched well in Saturday's no-decision against the Yankees, surrendering just two runs on three hits over his seven frames. Richards fanned seven while walking two on the night. He held the Yankees off the board until the fifth inning where Ichiro Suzuki plated a run with an RBI groundout. It looked as though he'd cruise to his third victory until Mark Teixeira knotted the game at 2-2 with a solo homer in his final inning of work. Richards has been tremendous on the young season and will carry a 2.53 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 31/16 K/BB ratio into Saturday's matchup against the Rangers.

Garrett Richards wasn't involved in the decision Monday after allowing one run and one hit in six innings against the Nationals. Richards is getting so much fastball movement right now that he's both very tough to hit and quite prone to the walk. We'll take it anyway; he's struck out 24 and posted a 2.52 ERA in 25 innings over his first four starts.

Garrett Richards allowed five runs on eight hits over seven innings against the A's in a no-decision Tuesday. Richards ran into trouble during a three-run third in which he may have been lucky to escape without further damage, and then sailed until he gave up a couple cheapies in his last frame of work on a walk, two singles and a wild pitch. Richards, now 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA and 1.16 WHIP, will get to wield a bat in his next appearance as the Angels square off in Washington against the Nationals on Monday.

Garrett Richards allowed only one hit over seven shutout frames in a 2-0 victory over the Mariners on Wednesday. Perhaps he just got sick of watching his teammates get lit up by Seattle. Richards' gem ensured that the Halos wouldn't begin the season 0-5 against the M's, and it also gave him his second victory of the year. He whiffed six and walked three in cutting his ERA to 0.75. Richards can bring it, but he's never been able to translate that impressive arsenal into enough missed bats. On the chance that the light has come on for the 25-year-old, mixed league owners with an open bench spot could do worse for a no-risk flier. Richards and the Angels host the A's on Tuesday.

Garrett Richards was terrific in Sunday's victory over the Indians in Cactus League action, firing 6 1/3 shutout innings. Richards allowed just three hits and three walks while punching out two. The 25-year-old hurler has secured a spot in the Angels Opening Day rotation, and makes for an interesting flier in the later rounds of mixed league drafts.

Garrett Richards allowed two runs in 4 2/3 innings in Thursday's start against the White Sox. Richards allowed seven hits and struck out two. The right-hander should open up the season in the rotation. He performed adequately there last season, posting a 4.18 ERA while averaging more than two strikeouts for every one walk in 17 starts.

Garrett Richards allowed five runs on eight hits over four innings against the Diamondbacks on Saturday. On Monday, Richards tossed three scoreless frames against these very same D'Backs, but his outing this afternoon didn't go as smoothly. He struck out three and walked none, but also surrendered three extra-base hits. Richards posted a 4.16 ERA and 101/44 K/BB ratio over 145 innings across 17 starts and 30 relief appearances last season.

Garrett Richards tossed three scoreless frames in Monday's start against the D'Backs. Richards allowed two hits, walked none, and struck out two. He is likely to open up the season at the back of the Angels' starting rotation. He does face some competition, but it won't be fierce. Richards joined the Angels' rotation at the end of July last season and performed well, posting a 3.72 ERA in 13 starts.

Garrett Richards was pulled after giving up six runs (three earned) in 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Rangers on Saturday. The Angels' defense was terrible behind him, but Richards was far from sharp, allowing six hits and one walk. He also uncorked two wild pitches. He'll finish the year with a 4.16 ERA and 101/44 K/BB ratio in 145 innings across 17 starts and 30 relief appearances. The Angels hope to add some starting pitching help this winter, but Richards stands a good chance to open 2014 in the rotation.
