Felix Doubront is scheduled to throw a 45-pitch bullpen session Friday. The Red Sox haven't ruled out placing him on the disabled list, so he'll need to come out of it healthy. If all goes well, Doubront could return to make his next scheduled start Tuesday against the Angels.

Felix Doubront will be skipped for at least one turn in the starting rotation. Doubront has logged 122 2/3 innings this season after injuries limited him to just 87 2/3 innings between the majors and minors last year. His career-high is 129 1/3 innings, but that was back in 2008 between Class A Greenville and High-A Lancaster. The southpaw has a 5.74 ERA in five starts since the All-Star break, so the Red Sox just want to give him a bit of a breather. Aaron Cook will start in his place Tuesday against Baltimore.

Felix Doubront was hammered in Thursday's loss to the Indians, surrendering four runs on seven hits over 4 1/3 innings. Doubront fanned four and walked two in the rough outing. It marked the third time he's been hammered in his last for starts, and he could be in serious danger of losing his spot in the rotation to Franklin Morales. Jason Donald blasted a solo homer off him in the first inning, then the Tribe erupted for three more in the bottom of the fifth. Assuming he remains in the rotation, he'll look to get back on track when he takes on the Orioles in Baltimore on Tuesday.

Felix Doubront was impressive in Wednesday's win over the White Sox, allowing just one run on four hits over six strong innings of work. The only mark against him was Paul Konerko's RBI single in the first inning, after which Doubront settled in nicely and shut the White Sox down for five straight innings. While his ERA isn't terrific (4.24), Felix has been a useful fantasy commodity, producing 10 wins and 99 strikeouts over his 102 innings. He'll attempt to keep things rolling in a tough matchup against the Rangers in Arlington on Monday.

The night started out rough for him, with Mark Teixeira blasting a three-run homer in the first inning, but he was able to settle in nicely and keep the Yanks off the scoreboard until Andruw Jones solo shot in the seventh. He'll go into the All-Star break owning a 9-4 record and 4.41 ERA through 17 starts on the season.

Felix Doubront took a no-decision in Sunday's 2-1, 10-inning win in Seattle, allowing one run on three hits and five walks in just 4 1/3 innings. Doubront struck out four, and needed 103 pitches to record his 13 outs. Today was just the second time in his past eight starts that Doubront failed to complete six innings of work. He'll bring a 4.42 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 91/34 K/BB ratio into his home outing against the Yankees on Saturday. It will probably be best to keep him benched for that one.

Felix Doubront gave up three runs (two earned) over 6 1/3 innings in a 7-4 win over the Blue Jays on Saturday. Doubront scattered seven hits (including a pair of home runs) while striking out seven and walking just one. He has a 2.72 ERA over his last six starts and a 3.75 ERA on the year. The 24-year-old southpaw has very quietly been Boston's most effective starter this season and is well worth owning in most mixed fantasy leagues.
