X-rays on Evan Gattis's right wrist came back negative. Gattis had to be scratched from Tuesday's lineup after tweaking the wrist during batting practice, but he's managed to avoid a serious injury. Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said he's hoping the catcher will be ready to go in a day or two.

Evan Gattis was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with a strained right wrist. Gattis injured himself during batting practice. It's not clear at this point how serious the ailment is, but the Braves should update his status after the game. Gerald Laird has taken his spot behind the plate.

Evan Gattis went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in the Braves' 7-0 win over the Rockies on Sunday. Gattis hit a solo shot off Franklin Morales in the second inning before connecting against Morales again for a two-run blast in the fourth. The two-homer game was Gattis' second this year and third of his career. He's now got 10 home runs and 21 RBI in 38 games this season.

Evan Gattis has returned to the Braves starting lineup on Saturday after missing the past four games. Gattis had been dealing with viral symptoms and was struggling to regain his strength. He will hit fifth on Saturday against opposing hurler Juan Nicasio.

Evan Gattis (illness) is available off the bench Thursday. Gattis will miss his third straight start due to viral symptoms, but he's going to try to ramp up his normal pre-game activities on Thursday. He's still trying to get his strength back, but it shouldn't be long before he returns to the starting lineup.

Evan Gattis (illness) is out of the Braves' starting lineup again on Wednesday evening. Gattis is on antibiotics for a nasty virus that he came down with on Saturday night. He will try to return for Thursday's series finale against the Brewers. Gerald Laird is starting behind the plate on Wednesday.

Evan Gattis tagged a fourth inning RBI triple to deep center field off Ryan Vogelsong in Tuesday's 5-0 win. He finished 1-for-3 with a walk. El Oso Blanco also homered on Monday. Is it too soon to hope he's broken out of the mini slump that mired his earlier May play? Gattis is outperforming his career numbers in all three slash categories so far, batting .259/.292/.528 with eight homers.

Evan Gattis homered and scored twice in the Braves' 5-2 win over the Cubs on Sunday. Gattis scored the first run of the game before connecting on a solo shot off Edwin Jackson in the fourth inning. The home run was his eighth of the season. After a strong April it's been a cool start to the month for El Oso Blanco, who's now hitting .257/.284/.514.

Evan Gattis is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Cardinals. Gerald Laird will make the start behind the plate and catch right-hander Gavin Floyd. Gattis is hitting just .189 (10-for-53) with with 16 strikeouts over his last 16 games, so he could probably use the breather.
