Fedde said Saturday that his MRI on his right oblique came back "pretty clean," Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde was scratched from his scheduled start against the Mets on Thursday due to side soreness, but he doesn't appear to be dealing with a significant injury. He'll play catch Saturday before determining the next steps in his recovery process. Although the right-hander hasn't ruled out pitching during his first turn through the rotation, he said that he won't rush back if doing so could make the issue worse.

Fedde will undergo an MRI on his right side after being scratched from Thursday's Grapefruit League start, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Nationals aren't too concerned about Fedde's side issue, but he'll still undergo further examination as a precaution. As long as his MRI comes back clean, he could throw a live BP within the next few days and make another appearance in an exhibition game prior to the end of spring training.

Fedde was scratched from Thursday's scheduled start against the Mets after experiencing tightness in his right side, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde has had a strong start to camp, as he tossed 4.2 scoreless innings across his first two Grapefruit League starts of the year. Josh Rogers will take his place as the starter in Thursday's matchup, and it's not yet clear how long Fedde will be sidelined or whether he'll make another spring appearance prior to the start of the regular season.

Fedde allowed one hit over 2.2 scoreless innings in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Mets. He struck out two and walked two.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander is expected to hold down a spot in a Nationals rotation that is a shadow of its former self, and so far this spring Fedde isn't doing anything to jeopardize that assignment. Through 4.2 innings over two outings he has yet to give up a run, although his 3:3 K:BB isn't exactly dominant. Fedde's numbers in the big leagues are just as marginal, but he did post career bests in strikeout rate (21.7 percent) and walk rate (8.1 percent) last season, so the 29-year-old may be able to take another step forward in 2022.

Fedde signed a one-year, $2.15 million contract Tuesday, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde finally reached arbitration eligibility in his fifth big-league season last year and will receive a fairly substantial raise as a result. That raise comes despite the fact that he struggled to a 5.47 ERA in 133.1 innings last season.

Fedde didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the White Sox after allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks across 4.2 innings, fanning one. He also hit a batter.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde was just one out away from completing five frames, something he'd done in each of his previous three outings. However, the results have been far from encouraging since he has given up four or more earned runs in three of his last five appearances. The 28-year-old owns a 6.08 ERA across five appearances this month.

Fedde tossed five innings giving up four runs (two earned) on fours hits while striking out five in Monday's loss to the Marlins. He did not factor into the game's decision.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander surrendered three home runs in this one, the last of which was a solo shot to Jazz Chisholm in the fifth inning. It was his second start with three homers allowed in his last three outings and he has been taken deep in five in a row. Over those five starts, Fedde has posted a 5.92 ERA and allowed nine home runs. He is projected to face the Reds in his next start Saturday.

Fedde (7-9) allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks while striking out eight across five innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde nearly made it through his start unscathed but surrendered a solo home run to Lewin Diaz in his final inning. He turned in a strong start otherwise, backing his eight strikeouts with 16 called strikes and 17 swinging strikes. The positive effort was much needed for Fedde, as he entered this outing having surrendered 13 earned runs across his last 14.1 innings. For the season, Fedde has a 5.16 ERA with a 120:44 K:BB across 122 frames.

Fedde gave up four runs on five hits -- including three home runs -- over six innings in a no-decision against Atlanta on Thursday. He struck out seven and did not issue a walk.
EDGE Analysis
While the 7:0 K:BB looks nice, Fedde also put it on a tee a few times, allowing two long balls to Stephen Vogt and another to Jorge Soler. Fedde has allowed 13 earned runs on 22 hits in his last three starts spanning 14.1 innings, bringing his ERA to 5.31 for the season.

Fedde didn't factor into the decision in an 11-9 loss to the Mets during the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, coughing up seven runs (four earned) on nine hits and a walk over three innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Alcides Escobar committed two errors in the second inning, which didn't help matters, but Fedde's performance was bad enough on its own, and he seemed doomed to his 10th loss until the Nats staged a late rally to send the game to extra innings. The right-hander will carry a 5.27 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 105:44 K:BB through 111 innings into his next start.
