Fedde (shoulder) threw another bullpen session Saturday, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The side session consisted of roughly 40 pitches. When Fedde hit the IL, manager Dave Martinez suggested he wasn't too concerned about the injury. It seems Fedde, who sits with a 4.95 ERA and 1.54 WHIP this season, will end up missing more than 15 days, though perhaps he won't miss too much more than the minimum if he continues to progress in the right direction.

Fedde was placed on the 15-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation Saturday, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde was scratched from Saturday's scheduled start and will be forced to miss at least two weeks due to his shoulder injury. Paolo Espino will start Saturday against the Cardinals while Josiah Gray takes the mound during Sunday's series finale. While it's not yet clear whether Fedde will spend more than the minimum of 15 days on the IL, manager Dave Martinez said Saturday that he isn't too concerned about the right-hander's injury.

Fedde has been scratched from his scheduled start Saturday against the Cardinals for an unspecified reason, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Nationals haven't yet given a reason for scratching Fedde, but Paolo Espino will be moved up a day in the rotation to start Saturday. It's not yet clear when Fedde will be able to make his next start.

Fedde allowed three runs on seven hits and four walks with three strikeouts in 4.2 innings in a no-decision during Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde has allowed at least nine baserunners in each of his last three starts, pitching a combined 13 innings in that ineffective span. The Diamondbacks weren't all that efficient in cashing in their opportunities, and the Nationals' comeback win kept Fedde from taking a third consecutive loss. The right-hander now has a 4.95 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 70:47 K:BB through 92.2 innings in 19 starts this year. He's projected for a home start versus the Cardinals next weekend.

Fedde (5-7) took the loss in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Mariners, giving up two runs on six hits and three walks over 5.1 innings as the Nationals were downed 2-1. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander took pitching to contact to an extreme, somehow managing only two swinging strikes among his 85 pitches, but Fedde was able to limit the damage and held Seattle off the board until the sixth inning. Unfortunately, Washington managed only one run, which didn't come until the ninth. Fedde's control remains his biggest issue, as he's issued multiple free passes in seven of his last eight starts and posted a 5.27 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 25:20 K:BB through 41 innings over that stretch.

Fedde (5-6) took the loss Friday as the Nationals were routed 12-2 by Atlanta, surrendering eight runs on eight hits -- including three home runs -- and three walks over three-plus innings. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander allowed runs in every inning he pitched, eventually getting the hook after serving up three straight singles to begin the fourth. It's the first time all season Fedde has served up multiple homers, but his control issues were nothing new as he's issued multiple free passes in three straight starts and six of his last seven. He'll carry a 5.01 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 66:40 K:BB through 82.2 innings into his next outing.

Fedde allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out six in six innings during Sunday's loss to the Marlins. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde was in line for the loss during most of his start but was able to settle for the no-decision since Washington tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning. It was an encouraging appearance for the right-hander, who matched his season-high strikeout total and recorded his second quality start in his last three outings. He'll attempt to maintain his momentum during his next start, which projects to be Friday on the road against Atlanta.

Fedde yielded two runs on three hits and two walks over five innings in Monday's loss to the Pirates. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Through four innings, Fedde allowed just an RBI sacrifice fly to Josh VanMeter. He then served up a solo shot to Oneil Cruz in the fifth after not giving up a homer in his previous two outings. The 29-year-old has thrown at least five innings while giving up three or fewer runs in four straight starts, lowering his season ERA to 4.40 through 73.2 frames. Fedde is lined up to face the Marlins at home this weekend.

Fedde (5-5) picked up the win Tuesday, scattering two hits and a walk over six scoreless innings in a 3-0 victory over the Orioles. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Baltimore didn't even get a runner into scoring position against the right-hander, as Fedde tossed 59 of 97 pitches for strikes en route to his third quality start of the season. His lack of dominance continues to make him a risky fantasy option, however -- Fedde hasn't struck out more than four batters in any of his last five starts, posting a 6.26 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 13:10 K:BB through 23 innings over that stretch.

Fedde (4-5) took the loss Wednesday as the Nationals fell 8-2 to Atlanta, giving up three runs on seven hits and three walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander put plenty of traffic on the basepaths but was able to escape significant damage, exiting after 111 pitches (64 strikes). Fedde has failed to last six innings in four straight starts, stumbling to an 8.47 ERA, 2.06 WHIP and 9:9 K:BB through 17 innings over that stretch, but the Nats don't have enough healthy options for their rotation to consider removing the 29-year-old from his current role.
