Thames is out of the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Thames has routinely sat against left-handed pitching in the second half, but after producing only one hit in his last four starts, he'll hit the bench against a right-hander (Yu Darvish) in the series finale. Neil Walker will pick up the starting nod at first base in place of Thames, who is batting just .214/.298/.397 since the All-Star break.

Thames is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Jesus Aguilar will take over at first base against lefty Matt Moore, which is standard procedure whenever the Brewers face a southpaw. Thames is tied for 13th in the NL in home runs with 27 on the season, but he's hitting right around the Mendoza Line in August and just .215 since the beginning of May. Thankfully, he still has six games remaining against the Reds (10 homers in 12 games against Cincinnati to this point).

Thames is out of Sunday's lineup against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
With lefty Kyle Freeland on the hill for the Rockies, the Brewers will go with a righty-heavy lineup. Jesus Aguilar will start at first base and hit fifth.

Thames is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
It appears manager Craig Counsell is just giving Thames a breather for the day game after the night game, allowing the Brewers to make room at first base for Jesus Aguilar for the first time in six contests. After a big three-game series over the weekend with the Reds, Thames went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's series opener, dropping his average to .232 since the All-Star break.

Thames went 2-for-5 with a solo homer and a stolen base in Saturday's win over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Thames has feasted on Reds pitching all year, hitting 10 homers in just 12 games against Cincinnati. He had been slumping some coming into the series, and really he's been a significant batting average drain since the beginning of May, but he's tied for sixth in the NL in home runs with 27. The stolen base was his first since May 23.

Thames is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Thames will retreat to the bench yet again as the Brewers face left-hander Dietrich Enns for the series finale. It's been almost three weeks since the first baseman has provided a multi-hit game, including a 2-for-23 span at the plate over the past week. In his place, Jesus Aguilar picks up the start, batting fifth.

Thames is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
As has typically been the case over the last couple months, Thames will take a seat with a lefty (Adalberto Mejia) on the hill for the opposition. Jesus Aguilar will start at first base and hit fourth. Thames is hitting .209 with 11 home runs and a 77:26 K:BB over his last 191 at-bats.

Thames will be the leadoff hitter for Thursday's series finale against St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
This marks the second time in his career that Thames will be atop the order, the first being in 2011 with Toronto, per Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. With manager Craig Counsell looking for answers from Milwaukee's lineup, Thames will get a chance to extend his six-game hit streak while attempting to jump start the Brewers' offense.

Thames went 1-for-5 with a solo homer in Wednesday's loss to the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Thames went deep off Luke Weaver in his first at-bat, then racked up three strikeouts without a hit in his next four appearances. While he has cooled down considerably after belting 11 home runs in April, the left-handed slugger now has his season total up to 25. Thames should continue batting second in the order against right-handed pitching.

Thames is not in the lineup Friday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Thames has started to get back on track at the plate lately, going 6-for-20 over the past seven games, although he'll head to the bench for another night off to avoid the lefty-on-lefty matchup with Chicago starter Jose Quintana. Jesus Aguilar will log a start at first base to replace him.
