Fowler (ankle) grounded out as a pinch hitter Wednesday. Fowler sprained his ankle Monday and was out of the starting lineup Tuesday and Wednesday, but it looks like the injury is not serious enough to force a move to the DL. He should be back in the lineup soon.

Fowler (ankle) remains out of the lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers. A sprained ankle kept Fowler out of Tuesday's lineup, and the team is considering him day-to-day with the expectation that a DL stint will not be necessary. Fowler will remain out Wednesday, as Matt Szczur makes his second straight start in center field.

Fowler (ankle) is day-to-day, and he may be available as a pinch hitter in Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Fowler's pinch-hitting availability will be a game-time decision. He sprained his ankle during the third inning of Monday's game against the Dodgers, and he was later removed from the contest in the fifth inning. X-rays came back negative.

Fowler (ankle) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports. Matt Szczur will get the start in center field after Fowler suffered a sprained ankle Monday night. The Cubs initially deemed Fowler day-to-day, but he did get an X-ray on the ankle. The team should have another update at some point Tuesday.

Fowler has a sprained left ankle, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports. Bad news for Fowler's fantasy owners after he left Monday's game with the injury, as sprains can potentially be multi-week issues. There's no word yet on the severity of this one, but it seems reasonably likely that Fowler will be out at least until the weekend. We'll await more of a timeline from the team.

Fowler was lifted for a pinch hitter Monday after suffering an apparent leg injury, reports Bruce Levine of 670 The Score. Chris Coghlan hit for Fowler and stayed in to play left field, with Matt Szczur moving over to Fowler's spot in center field. Fowler suffered the injury going back to first base following his third-inning single, but remained in the game and came around to score on Kris Bryant's home run. The Cubs will likely clarify Fowler's injury status soon.

Fowler went just 1-for-5 in Sunday's game against the Twins, but his lone hit came in the form of a grand slam in the eighth inning. The 29-year-old is batting just .238 on the season, but has found a way to chip in elsewhere across the board with eight home runs, 11 stolen bases and 46 runs scored. Fowler will not win fantasy owners a batting average title, but he is good source of helpful counting stats that can be had for cheap.

Fowler went 1-for-4 with a pair of walks and runs scored in Wednesday's 17-0 thrashing of the Indians. Fowler was one of the more modest performers on a night in which the Cubs pounced on the Indians from the get go, but he still managed to end an 0-for-7 slide over the last two games. The outfielder has been a solid contributor in the counting categories (seven homers, 11 steals), but his .240 batting average and .323 on-base percentage leave a little to be desired from the leadoff spot.

Fowler ended a seven-game hitting streak with an 0-for-5 performance against the Reds on Friday. Fowler's batting average was all the way down to .235 when the streak began. Though he's on pace for career highs in stolen bases and home runs, his .734 OPS is the lowest of his career.

Fowler went 2-for-4 Saturday with two runs scored and an RBI. After a miserable .189/.293/.377 May, Fowler seems to be shaking off his slump in June, going 8-for-25 (.320) with seven runs in six games. He hasn't had an extra-base hit since homering on May 26, but as long as he's reaching base consistently again, Fowler will have value from the top of the Cubs' batting order.
