Fowler left Wednesday's game due to right groin tightness, MLB.com's Carrie Muskat reports. Fowler reached base and recorded a steal in his first at-bat of the evening, but was later replaced by Chris Denorfia in the third inning. Consider the outfielder day-to-day for the time being, with Denorfia representing the most likely candidate for extra reps if Fowler has to miss a few days of action.

Fowler was lifted for a pinch hitter in the third inning of Wednesday's game, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports. It's uncertain what forced Fowler from the game, but look for the Cubs to provide some details before the end of the night. Fowler reached on a bunt single in his first at-bat and stole second base, but Chris Denorfia then hit for him his next time up.

Fowler went 2-for-3 with two triples, two walks, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Rockies. The former Rockies outfielder certainly looked comfortable in his return to Coors Field, reaching base in all but one of his plate appearances. Fowler is still only upholding a .188 batting average and .278 on-base percentage for the season after Saturday's performance, but once those numbers gradually creep closer to his career norms, the run totals should start piling up. As the leadoff hitter in a lineup that includes Jorge Soler, Anthony Rizzo, and soon, star prospect Kris Bryant, Fowler should be poised to deliver plenty of value to fantasy owners.

Fowler (back) went 1-for-4 with a double and two strikeouts against the Cardinals on Opening Night. Fowler went for extra bases in his first at-bats as a member of the Cubs, and though he didn't do much else, there was nothing to suggest the back issue he dealt with Friday inhibited his play. He should be fine moving forward.

Fowler left Friday's spring training game after one inning due to a sore back, but is expected to play Sunday, the Chicago Tribune reports. The ailment sounds minor, but any setback could be an issue for regular season games at this point.

Fowler (leg) went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in a victory over the Mariners on Saturday. Fowler was a little banged up after fouling a ball of his leg earlier in the week, but he appears to be fine. Though he's batting just .208 this spring in 24 at-bats, he's drawn five walks, raising his OBP to .387. He's set to be the regular leadoff man for the Cubs this year.

Fowler and the Cubs avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $9.5 million contract Friday, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports. Fowler was traded to Chicago earlier this week after spending last season with the Astros. He figures to serve as the Cubs' primary center fielder and leadoff hitter in 2015.

Fowler is close to being traded to the Cubs, Bruce Levine of 670thescore.com reports. This move will give the Cubs a strong lead-off man as far as OBP goes and a veteran presence to help them transition to a competitive level. Fowler hasn't registered an OBP below .360 since 2010 and reached double digits in stolen bases every full year he has played. The starting center fielder currently penciled in for the Cubs is former well-regarded prospect Arismendy Alcantara, who will likely move into a super-utility role going forward. On the Astros' side, Robbie Grossman or Jake Marisnick will likely take over center field.
