Dee Gordon is starting at second base and batting leadoff for the Dodgers' game against the Diamondbacks Saturday night.
Gordon sat in the opener in favor of Justin Turner, but he's back in there against D'backs starter Trevor Cahill. Gordon had nine stolen bases this spring in his bid to win the starting job, and the leadoff assignment suggests he could do some running if he's able to get on base Saturday. Yasiel Puig, who batted leadoff in the opener, slid down to the No. 2 hole for Saturday's game.

Dee Gordon went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored against the Padres on Saturday.
Gordon also tripled in the game. He's now got nine steals and hasn't been caught yet this spring. Gordon is also batting .282 and looks to be the leader for the Dodgers starting second base job thus far.

Dee Gordon finished Wednesday's game against the D'Backs 0-for-2, dropping his Cactus League average down to .172.
Despite the unimpressive spring, Gordon appears to be the favorite to grab the Dodgers' starting job at second base. They would like to see Alexander Guerrero start in the minors for a bit of seasoning first. Gordon has stolen eight bases in as many attempts this spring. He will be a great source of steals as long as he plays regularly.

Ken Gurnick of MLB.com writes that Dee Gordon appears to be the primary second baseman for the Dodgers.
It's pretty telling that Gordon is paired with Hanley Ramirez in the starting lineup Monday while Alexander Guerrero will play in the instraquad game. The 25-year-old speedster is 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts this spring should be relevant in all fantasy formats if Guerrero begins the season in the minors.

Dee Gordon put his blazing speed on display again in Saturday's loss to the Mariners, swiping another pair of bases.
He finished the night 2-for-4 with a run scored. That's seven steals this spring for the speedy infielder, who is making a strong case to open the season as the Dodgers starting second baseman. If he secures that job, he immediately becomes a very relevant player in all mixed leagues.

Dee Gordon went 1-for-2 and stole two bases in the Dodgers' loss to the Brewers Saturday.
Gordon started at second base, a suggestion that maybe he's entered the competition with Alexander Guerrero for the starting job. Gordon now has three stolen bases without being caught yet this spring. His speed is unquestioned, and if he can hit enough to stay afloat he's certainly got a chance to break camp with the club in some capacity.

Dee Gordon has added "considerable" muscle during the offseason, according to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times.
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said the shortstop is up over 170 pounds after hitting the weights this winter. It's some much-needed strength for the 25-year-old, as extra-base hits have been nearly nonexistent in his first three seasons in the majors. He won't have a path to playing time as long as Hanley Ramirez is healthy, but if he ever does find regular starts he'll return to the fantasy radar for his speed alone.

Mark Saxon of ESPN Los Angeles hears that the Dodgers have not discussed trading Dee Gordon to the Royals for Justin Maxwell.
The swap made some sense for the Royals, but the Dodgers already have a logjam in the outfield as is. Of course, it might not be that way for long if they end up dealing one of them, so we wouldn't rule out the swap as a possibility down the line.

Dee Gordon is starting in center field on Saturday for Tigres del Licey in the Dominican Winter League.
It still remains unclear if the Dodgers are considering a position switch, or merely want to increase Gordon's versatility. With a crowded outfield and infield already in Los Angeles, the 25-year-old speedster will need to show he can shine in a utility role if he wants to make the team out of spring training.

Dee Gordon's Dominican Winter League team, Tigres del Licey, is listing him as an outfielder.
Gordon took some fly balls in pre-game drills late in the season, but he's never played the outfield in the minors or majors. It's unclear whether the Dodgers are considering a position switch for the 25-year-old or if they might just be prepping him for a utility role. Gordon has batted only .256/.301/.312 across parts of three seasons with the Dodgers.
