According to Richard Sandomir of the New York Times, a deal for David Einhorn to buy a minority share of the Mets is "dead."
Einhorn was expected to pay $200 million for a minority, non-operating investment in the team, but the two sides were apparently unable to come to a satisfactory agreement. It's not yet clear if the Wilpons found a more promising investor or Einhorn backed out of the deal. Either way, the Wilpons and Saul Katz still face a clawback lawsuit for their alleged involvement in Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scheme, so they may eventually have no other choice but to sell. Stay tuned.

David Wright went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI in the second game of Monday's doubleheader sweep over the Marlins.
Wright was woeful before he went on the disabled list and hasn't hit much this month, but overall he's batted .296 since his return from back problems. He'll hope to close the season with a strong month and wind up with respectable numbers.

Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that the Rockies made a bid to claim David Wright on waivers.
It's not clear if they were awarded the claim, but it doesn't really matter because the Mets, according to Renck, "have made it known" they have no intention of dealing Wright. It's possible they could consider moving him over the offseason if they end up re-signing Jose Reyes and try to save money elsewhere. If they do, the Rockies are likely to be involved in those talks.

David Wright plans to do less weight lifting following the stress fracture in his lower back.
"I haven't been able to do the things in the weight room that I normally do and I think that's gonna be a good thing going forward," said Wright. "I'm definitely looking at doing less down the road, too. I'm gonna have to do less, pretty much forever -- but that's fine." Wright wasn't able to do much lifting during his rehab, but it hasn't had a negative impact on his performance. He is batting .392 (20-for-51) with two homers, three doubles and 13 RBI since returning from the disabled list.

David Wright went 3-for-4 with a home run, double and two RBI on Sunday, but it wasn't enough for the Mets in their 5-4 loss to the Marlins.
Wright now has four extra-base hits and six RBI in three games since coming off the disabled list on Friday. You could say he's back.

In his return from the disabled list, David Wright was 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 7-6 win over the Marlins.
Making up for lost time, no doubt. Wright had an RBI double in a three-run first inning and put the Mets ahead with another double in the eighth. Daniel Murphy drove in run Wright with a double of his own, which proved to be the difference in the ballgame.

Mets activated 3B David Wright (back) off the 15-day disabled list.
At long last. Wright last played on May 15, and was sporting a 226/.337/.404 triple slash before literally breaking his back. He crushed the ball during his six game rehab assignment with High-A St. Lucie, batting .476 while posting a .593 on-base percentage and .619 slugging percentage. He'll bat cleanup for the Mets this evening.
