Danny Farquhar picked up his fourth save in Sunday's win against Milwaukee. Farquhar allowed one hit, but was able to get out of the inning without any further damage. He's now converted all four of his save chances since taking over the closer role and has a 4.82 ERA over 37 1/3 innings.

Danny Farquhar picked up his third save by striking out two in a scoreless ninth against the Blue Jays on Wednesday. It was a tremendous day for the Mariners pen, which combined to pitch seven scoreless innings after Aaron Harang's early exit. Farquhar got the ball in the ninth again and did the job, allowing only a single in the process. He's gone eight straight appearances without giving up a run, and it looks like the closing gig will be his until he has a misstep.

Danny Farquhar earned his second save in as many days as the Mariners bested the Orioles on Sunday. And for the second consecutive day, Farquhar earned a save without allowing a base runner. It's been a fascinating ride for the native Floridian. On July 19, Farquhar's roster spot was in jeopardy with a 7.61 ERA. He's hurled seven consecutive scoreless appearances since, covering 10 2/3 innings. Tom Wilhelmsen was yanked from the closer's job Thursday, when he surrendered four runs without recording an out against Boston. Farquhar will continue to operate the ninth inning in Seattle until he fails. Despite a still-terrible 5.09 ERA, the right-hander owns a spectacular 53/14 K/BB rate over 35 1/3 frames. He needs to be owned in all formats.

Danny Farquhar earned his first save of the season Saturday in the Mariners' 8-4 defeat of the Orioles. Farquhar entered the game in the eighth inning and finished it out, retiring all four batters he faced -- two via strikeout. The 26-year-old right-hander has rattled off six straight scoreless appearances and could be the Mariners' go-to ninth-inning guy for a bit.

Danny Farquhar credits his new approach to a pep talk from 41-year-old catcher Henry Blanco. "He was like, 'Man, with your stuff you need to start pounding hitters in," said Farquhar. "And I really took it to heart and started applying it. I think a lot of my success is due to Henry talking to me." The right-hander owned an embarrassing 7.61 ERA on July 19, but he's looked spectacular over his last five relief appearances, tossing 9 1/3 shutout innings with a 15/4 K/BB rate. He's allowed two hits and a .245 opponent's OPS in that time.

Mariners purchased the contract of RHP Danny Farquhar from Triple-A Tacoma. The M's need a fresh bullpen arm, and Farquhar is an obvious choice after he put up a 2.25 ERA and 30/4 K/BB ratio over 20 Triple-A innings. He'll operate in middle relief.

Mariners reassigned RHP Danny Farquhar, OF Endy Chavez, SS Brad Miller, and C Jesus Sucre to minor league camp. Farquhar and Chavez were never expected to make the Mariners' Opening Day roster and will serve as organizational depth. A second-round pick in 2011, Miller should repeat this season at Double-A Jackson.

Mariners acquired RHPs Danny Farquhar and D.J. Mitchell from the Yankees for OF Ichiro Suzuki and cash considerations. This will be Farquhar's fourth organization in the span of two months, as the Yankees just claimed him off waivers from the Athletics in late June. The 25-year-old right-hander only has three major league appearances under his belt, but he has a 3.20 ERA and 275 strikeouts over 269 2/3 innings in the minors. He could find a home in middle relief.

Yankees outrighted RHP Danny Farquhar to Double-A Trenton. Farquhar was claimed off waivers by the Yanks from the A's on Tuesday and designated for assignment a few days later. Because he cleared waivers, New York can stash him as organizational depth without having to burn a 40-man roster spot on him. Yankees designated RHP Danny Farquhar for assignment. Farquhar was just claimed off waivers by the Yanks Tuesday. Given that he lasted all they way to them on waivers, it's possible he'll go unclaimed this time around and remain in the organization.
