Danny Farquhar is unavailable Sunday due to tenderness in his pitching elbow. The reliever said that he could pitch, but he understands the Mariners wanting to play it safely. Consider Farquhar day-to-day for the time being.

Danny Farquhar allowed three runs in a third of an inning against the Indians in Wednesday's 8-5 loss. Farquhar was credited with the loss after allowing a double, a triple, a single, and a walk. His defense didn't help him out either. Farquhar will set up for Fernando Rodney and should be a solid source of holds and saves throughout the year.

Danny Farquhar held the Padres scoreless in the ninth inning as the Mariners emerged victorious 7-1 on Thursday. Farquhar struck out one in his only inning of work. He is expected to set up for closer Fernando Rodney. The strikeouts should come in bunches for the right-hander.

Danny Farguhar gave up the go-ahead run on a balk and a took a loss Tuesday versus the Rangers. The balk was far from obvious, but C.B. Bucknor though something moved and awarded Ian Kinsler the plate. Farquhar had gotten into trouble by allowing back-to-back singles with one out, but he probably would have escaped the inning if not for the balk call.

Danny Farquhar picked up his ninth save by striking out the side in the ninth Wednesday against the A's. Since his meltdown a week ago in which he retired none of the five hitters he's faced, Farquhar has pitched four perfect innings, striking out seven. That loss to Tampa Bay is still his only blown save in 10 tries since he assumed the closer's role.

Danny Farquhar locked down Tuesday's win against the A's by hurling a perfect ninth inning to earn his eighth save of the season. Farquhar struck out two, his third multi-strikeout game in his last five appearances. The right-hander boasts a 2.16 ERA and 12/1 K/BB ratio in 8 1/3 innings since he took over the closer's job in early August. If he keeps pitching like this, Farquhar will remain Seattle's closer until season's end.

Danny Farquhar tossed a perfect ninth inning Friday against the Rangers for his sixth save. Farquhar gave up two runs against the Rays on Wednesday for his first blown save, but there was no drama on Friday, as he got Alex Rios on a ground out and struck out Mitch Moreland and Jurickson Profar. The 26-year-old should continue to be the go-to option in the ninth inning for now.

Danny Farquhar blew his first save opportunity since becoming the Mariners' closer, giving up two runs against the Rays on Wednesday. Farquhar closed out the Rays on Tuesday with ease but didn't record an out this time around, surrendering four hits and a walk. He'd been a perfect 5-for-5 with eight strikeouts in his previous five save opportunities before Wednesday. Despite the hiccup, he's been good enough in the role that the Mariners should keep coming back to him to secure victories going forward.
