Daniel Murphy went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI as the Mets' leadoff hitter on Wednesday. Murphy's OBP dropped below .300 10 days ago, but he's been red hot since, picking up 19 hits in 10 games. Now his average stands at .302, and while he's far from an ideal leadoff hitter, it's not as though the Mets have better options.

Daniel Murphy went 3-for-4 with a two-run double against the Cardinals on Monday. It was Murphy's first three-hit game and multi-RBI game since April 12. He finished that day hitting .368/.405/.711 on the young season. As of May 12, he was all of the way down to .258/.298/.386. Needless to say, he needed this, especially after manager Terry Collins started talking about giving Jordany Valdespin time at second base.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Monday that Daniel Murphy could lose playing time to Jordany Valdespin at second base if he continues to struggle. Murphy started the season red-hot, but he's hitting just .130 (7-for-54) over his last 14 games. The Mets are desperate for offense at the moment, so we wouldn't rule out the possibility in the short-term.

Daniel Murphy went hitless Thursday and is 4-for-24 with one RBI so far in May. May was his usual productive self in April, hitting .290/.327/.450 in 100 at-bats. Still, his poor defense makes it hard for the Mets to ride out his slumps. Fantasy leaguers can take heart that they'll stick with him anyway.

Daniel Murphy has been moved into the No. 3 spot for Friday's game against the Phillies. Murphy is off to a hot start this season, so Mets manager Terry Collins is looking to him as a run producer. David Wright will bat cleanup for the first time this season Friday while Ruben Tejada will take Murphy's place in the No. 2 spot. Mike Baxter is batting leadoff.

Daniel Murphy went 2-for-4 with an RBI but the Mets lost to the Dodgers on Tuesday. The RBI was Murphy's 13th of the season, and he's now hitting .357 for the year. He doesn't offer much for fantasy owners beyond a strong batting average, but he's hitting ahead of David Wright and second base isn't particularly deep this year. He's only an option for deep mixed and NL-only leagues, but owners could do worse in a pinch.

Daniel Murphy went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in a losing effort Thursday against the Rockies. Murphy is hitting .352 (19-for-54) on the young season and has already notched seven multi-hit games. He's not going to provide much in the way of power or speed, but his batting average should make him relevant in most mixed fantasy leagues.

Daniel Murphy had a single and a solo homer in Sunday's comeback win over the Marlins. Murphy's solo shot in the sixth inning pulled the Mets to within one before Marlon Byrd won it with a two-RBI single in the ninth. The second baseman hit two longballs in the first week after totaling just six in 156 contests last season.

Daniel Murphy is not in Thursday's starting lineup. Justin Turner will start at second base in place of Murphy in the Mets' series finale against the Padres. Murphy went 2-for-9 with an RBI in the first two games.

Daniel Murphy (intercostal) is batting second and playing second base Thursday against the Nationals. It's his first Grapefruit League game of the spring. Murphy has been slowed for most of camp by an intercostal injury, but he should be ready to rock on Opening Day. The 27-year-old hit .291/.332/.403 with six home runs and 65 RBI in 156 games last season for New York.
